Thankfuly, JJ actually seemed to have really messed with the Browns minds so much that the two roughing the kicker penalties worked to the D's favor.
The second one most certainly did not work in our favor. JJ's relentless energy is extremely important, but that was just stupid. You can't sell out to block a punt in that situation. Ended up leading to a TD to tie the game. Lucky it didn't cost us. Great win, Mallett looked spectacular. With 3 games left against AFC south patsies, I don't think 10 wins is that far fetched. I still say 8-8 though.
I have a hard time seeing 10 wins, but if the D keeps playing well and Mallett keeps looking good we should have the 3 gimmie wins against Tennessee and Jacksonville and we could have a shot at beating the Bengals or Ravens depending on which version of their QB's show up so it's certainly possible
I did say Your my boy Blue!! I think I predicted a buck fitty last time Blue was supposed to start, I guesd better late than never.
he said by "starting Mallett the Texans have given up on the season". which means "Fitzpatrick gives the Texans a better chance to win".
John McClain is really the most accurate guy in the country. Whatever he says, you can just bet your life savings on the opposite happening.
Underrated storyline here, with the Texans not slamming the door on the playoffs and Watt still playing like Watt, his MVP case lives on.
The Pittsburgh game is going to haunt the Texans. If they had won that game they would be 6-4 and be in the drivers seat for the 2nd wild card based on conference record. Instead they now need to go 5-1 rest of the way and still need help.
Well if they go 5-1, which is possible, but difficult, they'd be 10-6 I think that's enough for the 2nd wild card, but you're right, letting the Steelers win that game could very easily be what keeps the Texans out of the playoffs. Imagine where they'd be if they pulled out the Steelers game and the Colts game?
If they go 5-1 the rest of the way they might win the division. Mallet would have to go in to Indy and beat Luck.
To play in a hostile environment against the division leaders...this was huge for the Texans and Ryan Mallet. Even Bobby will admit that what Mallet did just on the very first drive was so much better than anything Fitzpatrick showed this season. And that cannon of an arm...There is no guarantee that Mallet will have a nice career...but what a heck of a way to start...throwing his first career TD to a DE...and getting a much needed win after a bye against a good football team at their place.
@IND is the biggest game charger. If they lose tonight and we're only one game behind for the division. Good thing about our losses this year is they're all NFC except PIT. Our losses beat most AFC competition for the postseason. We gotta win in Indy some time, but many posters think it will never happen, ever.
