1) Don't be obnoxious. That's on par with BigTex always saying UT Austin Branch. 2) It has been literally 2 guys who have talked **** and one of them is Tex who talks bad about every team no matter what.
Totally agree. But MSST is just as good as any top SEC team typically is. Bama and LSU are better than MSST and Ole Miss typically are... so you get a better SEC west than usual IMO. Next year Mississippi State is done. Ole Miss takes a step back. LSU, TAMU and Auburn should all take big steps forward. Bama takes a step forward. The onslaught isn't ending anytime soon. Don't forget this conference has beat Clemson, WVU, K-State, etc... Expected of a young team. Hill never looked good stepping up into the pocket. He didn't respond to pressure well, looked to run too much... Allen steps up, remains poised and has a quick release. The tools to succeed at any level. He still has to put it all together but the tools are definitely there. I didn't see that until this game. He really improved or got comfortable on Saturday... something changed. On a separate note - once Malzahn gets a legitimate QB Auburn is going to be near unstoppable. I assume they already have a freshman waiting in the wings? If not Kyler Murray should go there.
I wouldn't say calling people "tea sippers" is personal but it's an intentional insult. I don't find it insulting but seems weird for you all of a sudden to get touchy about name calling. Also, I commented on the content. Your assertion that a lot of people basically don't understand football enough to know that the win yesterday was good was fundamentally false. It was two guys and really 1 guy since you should dismiss bigtex.
Anyway, it's been a really entertaining season so far across the country. Certainly a good way to spend a Saturday.
Look at those games more closely. Losses against MSST (still the #1 ranked team today), Ole Miss (was a good team at the time, though they've dropped a bit) and Alabama (still great as always). It's not as though A&M lost consecutive weeks to the bottom-ranked teams in the top 25 - the three teams we lost to were probably considered the top 3 teams in the country, at the time. You put any good team up against that gauntlet, and I doubt that team will come out 3-0 feeling awesome. That first comment you made: welcome to the A&M thread, where haters gon' hate and know-it-alls don't know anything. I think Williams was incensed that, some Auburn players wouldn't let go of his leg / arm after a couple of nice runs, and that the refs probably told him to stfu. I think it was more "heat of the moment" than a chronic character issue developing.
So... I still feel the same way I did going into the season. We have a load of very young, very good talent on offense, a solid number of good, young defensive players both on the roster and incoming... And as expected from a young, talented team, you get inconsistency. A lack of toughness both physical and mental. But from time to time you'll see something amazing. Generally speaking, my perception of the team hasn't changed at all. It looks like the record might be a bit better than I anticipated but we could easily drop the next 2 games.
Alright Aggies fans, will Mark Synder be here next year? It is absolutely amazing how the DB's have such a difficult time defending the pass.
God I hope not. I don't want him anywhere near the new recruits. They actually have talent, and he would no doubt ruin any chance they have of succeeding.
How can defensive shortcomings always be blamed on the DC and never on the Head Coach? This goes back to UH....
It is the job of the DC and the position coaches to install a scheme and coach up the players on good fundamental football. This DC is making $750,000 a year to perform that role. If the DC isn't doing that job and the HC doesn't make a change, that is on the HC.
Defensive woes aside... man, Kyle Allen is going to be really good. As a Mizzou fan, I thought it was an incredibly impressive performance. Best game any opposing QB has played against us all year, imo. Not just the throws in a bucket, but the pocket presence... the way he was stepping up and sliding around to avoid Ray/Golden was way beyond his years. Think it's safe to say Kenny Hill is a career backup at A&M, barring injury.
Allen wasn't as impressive as he was against Auburn, but Missouri had him well scouted. They closed off the lanes he had last week. He is a superlative talent, and will be the starter. Hill messed up, and is unlikely to get back in. Consistently losing at Kyle field is not setting well with the Aggie faithful. Sumlin gets a pass this year, but hopefully this is not a pattern.
He has the pro tools but like a lot of college QB's with NFL tools he might be lacking that "magic" that makes the elite college QB's hard to beat. Lulz at Spav, man. Hmm, it's primetime and we're on ESPN, let's do a hurry up run that never works then come out and I can show off my cute little misdirection play. Just man up and run it two times. Jesus. He's trying to showoff for SMU or something.
actually looks like I'll be right. Likely looking at 7-5. the Auburn game was a true fluke. A last minute butt fumble from Auburn led to the victory

He could be a great Snyder replacement. Splash hire as well.
If I'm the Aggies I hire him. I do believe he's on record saying he hates College Station and/or A&M though.
