no we are bashing him for playing stupid. If it was the first time that would be one thing but twice is inexcusable.

Nah... any punter that gets hit by Watt is going to go down like that... these refs have just decided to make it an automatic PF no matter how severe the contact.

both times, the punter got right up and started running down field... didn't try to "sell" it by writhing around on the ground (which is more likely to draw the penalty).

JJ has a blank check to do stuff like that. You can't expect perfection.

Shouldn't they both have been running into the kicker calls?

On a kicking play where the defense fails to touch ("block") the kicked ball, the defense runs into the kicker/punter. If such an act occurs but is not intentional, this foul is assessed. If intentional, the personal foul of roughing the kicker is assessed instead (see above).

The offense is punching him the browns in the mouth right now. We need the momentum back.

You know...... I ain't even mad. JJ 's ability to effect the game in so many ways is just amazing to me. To get that close to the kicker twice is just ridiculous. That's what should be praised.

They could have been... but Hochule has decided to take a hard stance on the call this game.

both times he had a shot to block the kick... maybe he should stop destroying blockers.
