With the exception of the dud against K-State this team has been playing very well in Big 12 play. Really unfortunate we couldn't pull out that win against OU.

Progress has been shown over the course of the season, but 5-5 is what it is. Gotta get this win in Stillwater.

Have you been paying attention this season? How many games have they fell apart in the 2nd half? Glad to see them keep up the good play even after leading at the half.

Great win. Hopefully they won't have a letdown against Oklahoma State.

Certainly can; how about a Bowl game?! That would be huge for the new regime, for the players that will be here next year, and maybe even for some of the recruits that are on the fence about UT. Getting to and winning a bowl could really help the overall vibe of the team/program heading into 2015.

    Hook 'em, Horns!!

I think those games earlier in the season were tough since the team was transitioning systems and players. There seems to be some continuity now on offense with Swoopes and the OL, and they know they're going to be a run to set up the pass team. Yesterday, Swoopes was just off with his WRs, but for the most part, he's been able to connect on some big plays in the passing game here lately. If he can accelerate his growth over the next 6 weeks, he'll have a good chance of being a real threat at QB in 2015. Those extra weeks of practice for the bowl and spring practice will be critical in his maturation process.

That would be a signature win for Strong's initial season at UT to be sure!!

I mean, we can argue back and forth but it just really depends on the next two games. If the team breaks down in the 2nd half again this late in the season then the coaches failed this year. Too many games and it happening this late in the season isn't acceptable. BUT, just have to wait.

A TCU win would be tremendous. It would be a signature win for sure. It would be lame for someone to call beating a now unranked West Virginia a signature win. Maybe W.V makes their way back in the top 25 later and the win looks better than it does right now.

I have the Longhorn Network, but there was only audio of the game on Saturday. What is that about?

The game was on FoxSports1. LHN can't show games that are on the other networks.

My God, solid, you couldn't figure this out from a simple internet search? That's kind of embarrassing.........

I didn't make an internet search; I came here first. This is my internet search. ;)
I didn't really want to watch the whole game. I like switching between games and I noticed that it was audio only. I thought, wow, the longhorn network can only afford audio. I don't have Fox Sports one. I live in the deep woods; I am lucky to even have Rob Lowe commercials.

Dominant 1st half by the Longhorns. They should keep this up for hopefully a blowout win!

I am happy the team is doing well and I'm enjoying the game but it still feels a little dead inside. It's probably because it has been a tough year between these guys and the Texans. Seeing a Texas team carrying their coach on their shoulders for a home win against West Virginia... I don't know. I do know that I'll miss football so much when it's gone.

Bowl eligibility. It's a sad state when that's our goal.

However, I am glad to see some growth from this team. The O-line has definitely improved from the beginning of the season, but it was expected due to injuries and suspensions from starters. Running game improved with that, too, as well as the health of Brown and Gray. Swoopes has made improvements, but he still has bad reads and isn't as decisive with the ball. He also isn't as great a runner as I expected him to be, looks very slow accelerating.

Defensive line has always been good around Texas. Linebacker core is as good as it was, mainly because of health and depth now. The biggest improvement on defense is the DBs. Finally making form tackles and not whiffing due to Mack Brown's no-tackling practices.

Strong's coaching staff made a lot of mistakes this year. I expected better out of Strong, but there were so many frustrating moments of poor timeouts, clock management, play calls, and slow play calls. Can't really tell if that has improved.

Still hoping for a better year next year. There will be more continuity with Strong's philosophies and coaching, from the coaches down to the players. A lot of the growing pains were in the first half of the season when we were playing tougher opponents. I think we were clearly outmatched in our out-of-conference opponents. When conference play started, the tougher half was the beginning. Still, there were a lot of winnable close games where the growing pains made it more frustrating.
