    The Rockets are 8-1 (phew). However, here are the games they've played.


    @ LAL - easy W vs. a 1 win team
    @ Utah - tough game in Utah
    Boston - Rondo injured, doubt that mattered
    @ PHI - easy W vs. a winless team
    @ Mia
    SA - no Timmy or Manu
    GS - Loss (we missed 3 of our starters including Dwight) I think they make a difference
    @ Minny - No Rubio (not that he would have made much of a difference against this 2 win team)
    76ers - closest game of the season vs a winless team without Bev and Jones

    These teams are a combined 24-41. Are the Rockets as good as their record indicates? I am gonna go with yes (but barely), however these last few games have shown how important Beverley and Jones are to our team. I doubt we will continue to win 8/9 games all season, but I think we are getting out of the first round this year.

    No. Of course not. That projects to 73 wins. So...no. Of course not.

    They are legit though, and I expect them to pick up 55+ even in the brutal West. So that's good.

    Have you ever played basketball before? Sometimes the 3 ball doesn't go in, it happens, our defence is elite and keep us in every game so we are better than anyone rates us currenlty

    Are they 89% basketball good? Of course not. They're not going to win 70+ games if that's what you're wondering.

    But if they go 47-36 (56% of their games), they'll get to 55 wins. I would say that's very much in play especially if Morey works some trade deadline magic.

    They are good but i expect them to be 4-6th seed at the end of the season.

    I feel like people 1 star this thread without reading it. Anyways, I want to see how we fare against the Grizzlies. I hope Bev and Jones are ready by then and not rusty.

    What's the point of a win-loss record besides to tell you how good you are? Winning is all that matters.

    Close wins or close losses don't mean Jack. You either win or lose, and that determines how good you are currently.

    CF be Cray after losses or close games...

    I voted no, but the truth is they haven't been tested yet. The Spurs win doesn't count because of all the players Pop sat out. And the Warriors loss doesn't count because of the 3 starters the Rockets were missing. To be honest, that Heat win while impressive, is looking less amazing now that Miami's fallen back to earth.

    Now if they make it to the end of November with only 3 losses, then I'll start using the word "contender" to describe them(assuming Morey shores up the bench before the trade deadline).

    The question is NOT will the Rockets finish winning close to 65-70 games in a tough WC. It is do you think the Rockets are legit this year meaning 8-1 comes with certain expectations. What are yours this far in the season?

    Well they are playing well without 2 starters. They are at least a 55+ win team IMO and that is a contender especially in the west
