Sounds like one of those media talking head cliches that is overused and completely unproven. We have only lost 2 first quarters so far this season. And coming into tonight have averaged 29 in the first. No team plays well to start every game.

I'm not sure why Canaan did play as much in the 3rd. He was one of the only rockets hitting from 3, if it was a defensive issue why was he in the game the last possession?
I'm far from a McHale supporter, but calling for his firing while the team is 8-1 seems a little dumb.

Yeah, those were the two things McHale did tonight that drove me nutz. Leaving Canaan out for so long in the 2nd half when he was the one dude hitting 3's in the 1st half. And playing Cisco instead of Daniels when it was pretty clear the guy couldn't come close to making a basket despite being left wide open.
I would like to say to all of you McHale skeptics that the ultimate authority resides in Morey and Les. McHale has made it through three full seasons and IMHO is destined for an extension. Get prepared for it or you are going to have to choke on it.
