In the case of Mallett, you have to factor in the Washington turf as well...

If he can pass on target... then oh boy what a steal we got in the trade. That Arm is sick.

That's a pretty big if though. He's never been an accurate passer before, there's not really any reason to think he'd be one now. JaMarcus Russell had amazing arm strength, Blaine Gabbert has amazing arm strength, Brandon Weeden has amazing arm strength. Arm strength means nothing without accuracy.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how he turns out. I'm just glad we have 7 games to evaluate instead of 3-4 so the Texans won't get Keenumed.

The only asterisk I'd add to this is the lack of decent protection. It's hard to be accurate when the pocket is collapsing as quickly as I saw in those videos. Not saying he will develop his accuracy, but I am cautiously optimistic he can improve.

Yes, but if the Texans only watched him for 3 games they may have thought they had their QB of the future.

Foster being out really hurts Mallett, and the entire team in my opinion. Foster would have been a great safety valve for Mallett.

    He's such an underrated weapon.

But mama said, alligators are ornery because they have all those teeth and no tooth brush.

There were definitely some throws today that were off and should have been picked, but his command of the offense was outstanding and he made some throws very few QBs in the league can make. He's our QB, and I think the offense will be much better for it.
