I also enjoyed most of the movie. The last 30 mins was not that good. Also the old Korean guy was so out of place and annoying. Could not stand him. Worth a rental though.

I decided to give it a watch the other day since I was laid up in bed with the flu. It was decently entertaining, but it definitely had some moments that were just odd and out of place. For instance, the scene where they're fighting the army with knives, and all of a sudden they all start counting down for New Year's. I get the vibe that the director was going for there, but it just felt a little contrived to me. The ending was also really bad, and felt completely rushed and out of sync with the rest of the movie. If there was a better ending, I'd like to check it out. The American Netflix ending pretty much ruined the whole movie for me.

Yeah. Obviously you realize that scene was supposed to be funny. There were a lot more ridiculous moments towards the end, particularly the end of the train scenes where very shticky things happened that I couldn't really laugh at. I couldn't tell if there were supposed to be Subtitles for the korean dialogue... I don't know if there was a different ending for Netflix. The director has been interviewed about the one we saw and claimed it was optimistic. I was not a big fan of Tilda Swinton's character.

The security specialist who looked like a hobo. They used the gimmick with the tool translating his Korean, but then it was very inconsistent with it's usage. Totally unnecessary. He's like Jar Jar Binks.
