Plenty of guys with crap attitudes have won stuff. DeMarcus will never win anything because he's on the Sacramento Kings.

    Exactly lol.

If Cousins was in the eastern conference he would have already had multiple playoff and all star appearances.

it can be argued that Sacramento being a bad team could be partly because of Cousins attitude and the way he's been known to play the game. hard to see anyone willing to put the team's first interest at hand, when they see one of the leaders complain and cry about everything. definitely a chemistry killer. i guess well see this year if anything is different

Sacramento has been bad because of the players and coaches surrounding him.

Ron Artest and Dennis Rodman are irrational and annoying and will never win a damn thing with their attitudes.

And both Bill Walton and Robert Parish (Big Chief) smoke too much pot and are anti-establishment biatches with bad attitudes.

And Bill Russell has a chip on his shoulder and doesn't listen to his coach and hates all white people. He'll never win if he can't listen to his coach and respect his teammates.

Ron Artest and Dennis Rodman never won anything when they were the main men, they only won after they became role players alongside Kobe and MJ. If you're saying is maybe Cousins can be ring after he stops getting max money and becomes a role player alongside another superstar, then yeah Boogie can win a ring, same with guys like Rasheed Wallace.

I think Boogie is the textbook case why you never spend a high lottery pick on someone with screws loose in the head. People like them may indeed mature and fulfill their potential, but the same thing with Rodman or Artest or Sheed or Sjax, it's usually other teams which benefit and not the team that drafted them because they'll either flame out like Eddie Griffin or Beasley, or they'll just cause trouble for your franchise and then leave to sign a contender when they're mature already or whatever. With Boogie, I expect him to sign with NYC or LA as soon as he becomes a FA.

Sacramento is a crap organization incapable of handling a guy like Cousins. A well run franchise would get this guy to act right while getting his best.

He'll win if he leaves Sac-town to the right situation.

Well, Rodman was always a main role player and always won. Artest was plenty successful. They won 61 games and a division title and lost in ECF to the eventual champs.

or are you making the boring, constrictive argument that you have to win the title to win anything. The OP didn't say win the title. He said: "never win a damn thing" I think 61 games and a division title, going to ECF, is a "damn thing."

And thanks for the Rasheed Wallace remember. He definitely won many damn things at Portland. Hell, even at Detroit he was 29 yrs old in his prime winning that championship as a main man with Billups.

Are you saying Wallace was just a role player on Detroit?

I watched the last half of that Kings/Suns game & my impression was that Cousins had calmed down a lot. He wasn't complaining to the refs nearly as much & was more bb businesslike. Then when he fouled out, he did bark mildly at the refs at first. However when he saw Mike Malone come unglued, he kept his body between Malone & the refs. After he fouled out, he was the biggest cheerleader on the bench. I was pleasantly surprised & impressed by how he carried himself that game. Hope it continues.

To clarify, I meant win a title, at the very least a conference title.

I'm sure there are examples of head cases being successful, but as a main guy, I don't think Cousins will ever win. Not because he doesn't possess the skills, but because he doesn't have the mindset to win. He is always looking for someone to blame. It's like he is desperately looking for that chip on his shoulder to keep him moving. Until that subsides, I don't see him winning anything significant (conference title, at least a playoff series). He is too quick to blame his coach, blame his teammates, or blame Charles Barkley.

    The kid is nuts.

It's one game, but that's good news. I am pissed off I turned off the game during the 3rd quarter. They were up 20+ still so I figured Memphis would give in. Damn it!

Don't forget, there are a lot of quiet types who have bad attitudes...like Asik last year. It's only the loud ones who get noticed.

Well, maybe the kid is maturing faster than your opinion of him.

It currently looks like he matured a lot in the FIBA Championships. And I don't care if yet another storing comes out about him (like happened to Barkley, Rodman, Artest and Rasheed all the time), you have to focus on his team's performance.

As JVG says, you are what your record says you are. (albeit, he's talking about the team and coach.)

The Kings are clearly a surprise team this year, because of Cousins.
