Bravo! Directv offers the most sports packages and is the way to go for the true sports fan IMO

I have Dish and am currently showing 3 Root Sports Channels: Root Sports Pittsburgh, Root Sports North West (Minneapolis), and Root Sports Rocky Mountains (Denver), so it's not hard to imagine Dish will be adding Root Sports SW in the very near future.

What do those Root Sports Channels show all day? Dan Patrick Show, other sindicated Sports talk shows, X games stuff, informercials, game reruns etc. They are ok.

Happy with Dish btw. They play hardball with the program producers so as to keep their prices low. Therefore, sometimes here and there, they take away some lesser channels until they negotiate the right deal.

Does anybody know if Calvin's gonna be apart of the broadcast team on Root? On the final CSN show with Bill Doleman & Calvin Murphy, they seemed like they really had a real friendship. Calvin is the ONLY reason I watched post/pre game Rocket shows

Those RSNs were probably already on Dish before their CEO came out and said they were not interested in anymore RSNs because of the climbing prices. So I wouldnt be expecting them to fall over themselves to add Root Houston.

For a company that plays hardball to keep prices low, why is it when I priced out the services three years ago Direct had the lower prices for better lineups? I really dont like either satellite services since I still lose signal in bad weather(something that never happened with cable) but Im saving quite a bit with Direct.

That guy clearly works for Dish.

DTV broadcasts in true 1080p moreso than others, thats all I really care about.

Absolutely no one broadcasts in 1080p. At least as far as providers go. Verizon Fios is the only thing that come close. You get 1080i broadcasts at best from cable and satalite. DirecTV does have the best picture quality though, again behind Verizon Fios.

CSN was horrible. Quality and sometimes content. The Dwight Howard reality show was horrible. Even the broadcast of the games had its share of bloopers.

The movies and movie channels are 1080p I believe. 24 fps. Usually when I watch a movie on HBO or Showtime the quality is much higher than standard 1080i.

I didn't know that. I knew that some OD movies were 1080p, but had no idea about the movie channels. Interesting...

Movie channels are not. Only DIRECTV cinema content is 1080p.

    https://support.directv.com/app/ans...how-can-i-watch-directv-programming-in-1080p?

The reason it looks so good is because DirecTV comes in second behind FIOS in the bitrate their content is displayed at. Around 14mbps compared to 20 for FIOS.

AT&T Uverse is a ****ing joke at like 5.6mbps lol.

Good. Now all the people that were too lazy to switch to Comcast and chose to just complain about it finally get their way.

I didn't find it to be horrible. I thought it was the best local sports station I've seen. They really did have a lot of content. They covered pretty much every sports team in the city. Some of the shows I had no interest in, but they had something for everyone.

Honestly laziness has nothing to do with why LOTS of people want nothing to do with Comcast.
