yeah he reminds me of a rich man's ryan anderson ala dirk nowitzki. better than him at every thing, but also about 5 years into the past, and even if there was a way we can get him, he wouldnt wanna go to houston.
Can anyone pull up something to show that Morey did try to get Anderson? I seem to remember he did but not really sure. I've always thought of Anderson as Love Lite.
He has gone after him before - I know this for a fact. Just wait for Millsap next year - that will fill the PF spot.
The Pelicans know the trouble they are in if Houston comes into possession of a stretch 4. For that reason, unless the deal blows them away, the Pelies will not be moving Anderson to Houston.
Not sure why they'd trade him now, They are actually building something there with Asik and Davis up front. They need Anderson.
This a million times. Lamarcus Aldridge, Blake Griffing and Serge Ibaka are our issues. The reason this team looks so damn improved is because we stopped trying to solve our offense (didn't need solving) and actually improved defensively by getting rid of Lin and Parsons and having Canaan and Ariza as their replacements. With James Harden, arguably the single most gifted offensive player in the entire league (Durant included) we do not need any more offensive help.
I really want Al Horford on this team. Atlanta making him a center was a big mistake. Dude has the Power Forward skill set and would be a great fit. What is his DRPM?
Another problem we have is Serge shutting down the paint against Harden and other attackers, having someone like ryan anderson forces Ibaka to stick to him like glue, opening up the paint for drive and kick or drive and finish. Also I agree that Anderson is not a good defender, but he's not someone thats just going to get abused possession after position. Also now that we upgraded the defense with trevor, healthier howard, more alert harden(hopefully for the season) I believe we would still be a top 10 unit defensively while improving to top 3 offensively.
Why didn't we go after Patrick Patterson? - better defender than TJ; - great jump shot with 3 point range; - cheap at <$6M salary. Instead of constantly shooting for the moon, I wish Morey would target these reasonable guys who would fill huge voids.
Anderson is what he is. A three point shooter who is a hole on defense. Jones is no better on defense but is much more athletically gifted. What do the Rockets actually need from the starter at PF? I would submit they need 14/8 and really good defense.
Here's where you can look it up: http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/year/2014/page/2/sort/DRPM/position/6 The stat seems to only have been tracked starting last year. Also, Horford was injured for most of that year.
