The suns get more in return on a Bledsoe deal than a Dragic deal due to impending Free agency for Dragic. If suns are confident Dragic wants to stay in Phoenix I could see Bledsoe dealt since there was bad blood during those contract talks.

I imagine Dragic has been unhappy since they got Bledsoe. I really feel it a likely scenario that Dragic pushes to be dealt to Houston.

If he's happy being a backup here.

    Dragic would start over Bev.

If those 3 aren't working. the Suns won't trade him, turn around and promote Isaiah, only to resign him...unless Dragic say's it's ok for him to come off the bench (not likely especially from the Suns' point of what they will have to pay to get him back) or Isaiah says he'd like to head back to the bench after taking over the starting role (not likely). And even so...now they have a serious boatload of cash spent on 3 that they've already seen don't mesh all that well. So while Dragic "could" do that, I don't think the Suns would be a serious threat.

There are 2 things that cause a person to want to resign with a team - wins and money...ok probably 3 but we don't have Kobe so that's out for a reason not to. Wins we should have and if Les is willing to pay the man, we could outbid any other team. So I don't worry about resigning him so much as what other teams out there that can also offer wins and money would be able to trump that offer. There are a lot of teams wanting to improve vs rebuild. The only thing I think of for him to walk would be if a team offers him the max and Les doesn't pay and we lose him...again...

And if winning the title isn't really the goal for this year ("flexibility" is the factor that tells me they are still hunting and just buying time right now), then giving up role players for a better player even though it could initially result in a few more losses is ok. We could still shore up the bench some with the TPE. And there is always MLE next year.

Let's get real - Pap is a scrappy, smart player but can't shoot, Jones is a nice role player who I'd like to keep "but" and the pick is a late lotto pick at best. So all I this I don't want to readily give up but you have to give to get. I just don't know if the "best" we have to give is enough to trump what others would give.

Maybe we're waiting for Plumlee #3, the biggest one?

most definitely he would. I would also imagine Bev would have a higher efficiency in offense and defense because he will be more rested. Bev will go back to his 200% self instead of his 110% mode right now

Haha, man Marshall is so bad! He had moments last season, but a guy that big should be a beast on the boards. He would have been a perfect fit with Parker/Hood, but he just hasn't gotten 'it' yet. He reminds me a little of DMo - a guy that should be good, clearly has talent, but seems lost on the court at times.

I wonder if he will take Hairston's backup big minutes this year, or if that will go to somebody like Semi?

Sorry for the thread re-direct. Please proceed!

Would he be good playing off the ball with Harden?

He'd obviously be awesome in the Ginobili role.

Dragic is a better passer than Bev. Can run the Pick and Roll better than Bev (both passing and scoring inside) is basically a better scorer everywhere on the floor than Bev and also is ELITE finishing at the rim.

We lose out on Dragic not being as great of a defender but I believe Dragic/Harden/Ariza is a great dream to start on the perimeter.

The Rockets team is not built to have Dragic on the team. As Morey pointed out on 790, the Rockets have a top five defensive player at the 1, 3 and 5. The team is built around the concept of Harden with the ball. Is there a more dangerous player in the NBA with the rock in his hands than Harden? And of course, the Rockets have absolutely no trouble scoring points. Half of the game is on defense. That right now is the most important half for the Rockets.

Honestly, Dragic would be perfect to play a 6th man role. He would allow Harden to get a lot more rest.

The Rockets right now have exactly three serviceable bigs. Jones, D-Mo and Howard. IMHO addressing that flaw is the most important priority.

Completely agree, but it would be nice to have another playmaker (like Dragic) to lead the 2nd unit. Not saying Dragic would ever agree to such a role here, but someone like him.

IMO, a solid backup rim protector / rebounder would round out this roster nicely.

    Truth.

And how is River Oaks doing these days? I lived there a couple of decades ago. It was nice.

    lol

Dragic will get a lot less touches here with Harden. Harden handles the offense.
