That's actually pretty good compared to some of the other geography lessons in this thread.

Mexico belongs to Francisco Garcia (Dominican Republic really, but he's the only Hispanic player on the two teams).

I bet there are Hispanics and/or Mexicans on the staff of the Rockets though, with Texas being adjacent to Mexico.

Yes. They'll be reevaluated before the Sixers game. Although I'd be surprised if either were back for that one given it's at home and against arguably the worst team in the NBA. But I hope they're back in time for that 2-game B2B roadie in OKC and Memphis.

I have any confidence in either of them returning within weeks unless the reports of the injuries are less than what the reports explain.

Exactly. Unfortunately, per Jenny Dial Creech, Garcia was sick and did not practice yesterday before boarding on the flight to Mexico. The Rockets could make this one home court.

I suppose the Rockets could keep them out until the Dallas game which is almost 2 weeks away. Even without T-Jones and Bev, you'd have to favor them against the T'Wolves, Sixers, depleted Thunder(although they did nearly beat the Grizzlies the other night), and Lakers. The only game that'll be really tough in that stretch is at Memphis on a B2B(and 4th game in 6 nights).

What gives you any idea it wasn't? The very fact that he missed the game should indicate it was something serious enough to warrant scratching him from the lineup at the last minute. Unless you think he just had a headache and decided he couldn't play.

Because not every player sits out when they get the flu. Or headaches for that matter(unless it's Game 7 of the ECF and your name is Scottie Quitten).

i listened to some podcast put up today. Anyhow seems like Jones could be out for a while given his unpredictable nerve injury. And Bev could be out another week..Good thing rubio is out. ha ha

I have faith in the players that will play I just hate how every time we get a really good team we get one learning curve year then the following year here comes to the injuries...

HTM is loving you right now for taking all the heat of him. Don't worry, you will live this down, eventually. The dumbass who thinks he's the smartass is always the last to know.

Not true, Ricky Rubio is Hispanic. Hispanic refers to people of Spanish speaking heritage. Francisco Garcia is the only Latino player on either team.

you two are soo wrong!

Mexico is a HUGE market for the NBA, and Mexico cares a lot about basketball, here are some facts:

-this is going to be the 20th NBA game in Mexico
    - this is going to be the 2nd regular season game that is going to be played in Mexico, (Houston Rockets defeated the dallas mavs in 96)
    - NBA has a local office in Mexico city (only city in Latinamerica that has a local office)
-NBA has a ton of tournaments 3x3 here in Mexico city, every year.
-the Houston Rockets have played already 5 times in Mexico City
    - even when its preaseason games it gets 80-90% of the attendance. even when the clippers played here in mid 90s (when the clippers where the joke of the league) people still went to see basketball.
    - Mexico has a professional league
    - there was a lot of coverage and a lot of people were talking about Mexico in the past world cup.
    - Mexico has a bronze metal in the olympics in 1936
    - Mexico has a lot of public basketball courts.

Actually I think this game could have the same attendace than if it was in Houston.

Last year, the Spurs were going to play the wolves here, but something blew, and there was a huge smoke in the court, so they cancelled, but the NBA still return this year, because they know mexico city is a big market for them.

so, before saying that mexico doesnt care about basketball, get some facts please.
