I doubt this report is true, but if it is, why on earth did Love force himself out of Minnesota in the first place? Unless he preferred Minnesota fleecing another team rather than them being fleeced?

100% untrue story though, no substance

Somewhere Jalen Rose is smiling. His predictions can come true.

I think that's the only way Love would consider going to LA, if Westbrook comes along as well. If not, then I can see Houston making a very strong push, as always.

Would rather have Durant, of course.

Of course he will, and he'll probably resign with the Cavaliers. Playing with LeBron is probably his best chance at winning, and the Cavaliers hold his bird rights and can exceed the cap to give him the max. Not one person in this thread has mentioned how he signed that contract short of the max with Minnesota. He's probably looking for the max, so it makes sense for him to opt out so he can get paid more.

LOL. Wow. Alot of people are out of touch here.

Of course Love will opt out. Why wouldn't he? If he opts out, he secures a long term max contract while he's young and healthy. If he opts in, he stays another year at 16 mil, but risks major injury or decline in play that could lead to not getting a 4 or 5 year max deal.

Also- Guess what? After next Season Dwight Howard will opt out of his last year as well in order to sign again long term. I'm sure everyone here will freak out, and say nobody wants to play in Houston, blah blah blah and it will be all for nothing.

More than likely Dwight opting out and getting a max deal to resign was ANOTHER contingency(along with OTHER things) of Dan Fegan when Dwight decided on Houston.

Much like the Dwight contingency, I'm sure Love and the Cavs have a similar agreement. No way they trade 2 number 1 picks if they don't know that Kevin Love is opting out and resigning long term to a max deal next Summer.

Bingo. Pretty amazing that only two posters in this thread have made the (fairly small) logical leap as to why Love would opt out.

Could he leave Cleveland? It's possible. But the overwhelming likelihood is that he re-signs in Cleveland on a long-term deal. This is at least 95% financial, not an indictment of the Cavs or anything else.

love is a west coast guy.

not a shocker he wants to return after spending significant time in Cleveland & Minneapolis.

this can be great for the rockets. too bad it's so far away (2016).

lebron can opt out in 2016.

why on earth would love risk getting stuck in cleveland when he can get a max deal from the Lakers?

You think Lebron is going to leave Cleveland again? After that whole comeback article he did about him wanted kids to grow up and stay and help build Cleveland back up? LOL

Its all about getting the security of a new long term contract. Lebron signed that deal specifially so he can take advantage of the new cba when it comes.
