He should have stayed humble then. Many guys have gotten oversized contracts as well, but they didn't turn on their teammates like Harden and they didn't diss the city they left. Their brothers didn't also get into fights on twitter defending them, but oh well ... The players we sent away who wanted to stay here--Battier, Scola, Landry, Hayes--they didn't say anything bad about the organization or the city. It just shows the level of Parsons' maturity and professionalism.
You forgot Portions most egregious transgression: Posing in a nightclub after he signs the offer sheet and post the pic to twitter with a "pay me" caption. That's pretty disrespectful. What's crazy is even after he did that we Rockets fans still wanted Morey to match...
Chandler Parsons is averaging one more point than Lin but has a sub .400 FG% vs. .45 FG% from Lin... LOLOL fail Looks like Morey knew what he was doing when he let go of Lin and Parsons..
Reading the mavs forum, there seems to be some info about how Carlisle had an issue with Parsons training regimen all off season, was hassling him to slim down for months, which led to that comment to the press, and that Carlisle was actually taken off guard by how sensitive Parsons was, which in turn led to the apology. Now we know he's a notoriously lazy trainer from his Houston days, but that seems to be their Lin, where the owner dipped his finger in the pie and ruined it.
All the media people at the start of the season were raving about how good the Mavericks' offense is but the thing is, they are worst offensively than we were last year. Then add that their defense makes our defense last year looks like Thibs is coaching really makes me laugh at those who picked the Mavericks to get a top 4 seed.
Parsons brought this on himself. I have no problem rooting for players that leave our team and wish them success. But when you call my city dirty and make rap videos about how easy it was to leave then you officially become a enemy. That's when all bets are off
I don't know about him being a lazy trainer in Houston. He was one of the league leader in minutes. You can't do that and be out of shape. I hope for his sake that he can get a real shooting coach with all that money he is making.
You can tell that Parsons is really pushing and forcing things out there and trying to prove his worth by scoring. His shot attempt are slightly up but, more importantly, his assist are way down which tells me he is only looking to score. While Parsons is an average shooter and finisher, one of his strengths is passing particularly in the pick and roll. He is not looking to pass right now even though he, more or less, has the same or better options than in Houston. Mavs have better shooters than we did last year, they also have the pick 'n pop master in Dirk and Tyson to catch lobs; no reason why Chandler is averaging <2apg
He also really misses Harden. Harden helped create a lot of offense for him. In Dallas he's playing next to a black hole in Monta and Dirk who likes to roam the perimeter just like parsons
I really think it was a mistake for that team to give up Vince Carter. They should've held on to him. VC had a huge impact offensively for the Mavs.
