Putting Pap at center, and not playing Daniels in the 2nd half when we missed like 10 straight 3s were only glaring coaching mistakes.

Everyone who's legitimately b****ing about our performance last night, ie trying to extrapolate some sort of conclusion like "see harden can't lead" or "mchale really screwed up" is an idiot. how about you learn to manage your expectations.

Black was playing like ****. DoMo was gassed. Missing your two starting bigs means that the coaching staff has no good choices at times.

We lost a game with 3 starters out, including one of our two superstars. The whining and sniveling from some of you here directed towards the guys who did play is simply pathetic. With Howard out (and I think we would have won had he played, and thought we were going to win before he was declared out for the game), it's a bloody miracle we played as well as we did against the team many of the talking heads that cover the league had as #1 in this early season.

The GARM is so ****ing predictable. We're 6-1, and with 3 starters out were beaten by a terrific team. Get a grip, you idiots.

I swear most of you are r****ds lmao.....complaining from a loss where we missed 3 starters and 1 being the best center in the league.

I concur. I saw the same posters having the same reaction during our pre season games. Seems like nothing short of 82-0, no turnovers, 100% shooting, holding opponents to 10% shooting, etc. will satisfy some fans.

The pros: Canaan and Dmo played really good. The cons: Ariza couldn't get off his slump and playoff harden reappeared. Harden still got his points but the disinterest he shows on the court is just awful. Move dammit

Certainly agree that McHale didn't have much to work with but I probably would have preferred Black/Dorsey for that short DMo breather since Bogut was in.

Regardless, this team NEEDS a legit backup big that can give 10-15 minutes a night at the 5. I'm sure Morey is working on it, though.

The only thing that gives me some pause - and not a whole lot, was how effective GS was in pressuring out 3 point shooters.

When you shoot the 3 ball at 25% it's no longer a great shot to take. And this is where we need to think about the mid-range game where shooting at 40% all of a sudden becomes a better option.

    lol

Shooting the long 2 at a 40% clip is inefficient and stupid to rely on.

This team is built around Harden and Howard - those two compliment each other and the other starers. With one of the two out the offense and if Howard the defense takes a huge hit.

This on top of having two other starters out - the already thin bench becomes a lot thinner.

The Rockets played tough and down the stretch the lack of a bench really wore down the guys and without an interior deterrent like Howard. The easier shots across the board just were not there - whether its from double down on Howard or the spacing a Howard/Harden pick and roll creates (not to mention the easier opportunities this play creates for the two of them)

It was a close game I dont think anyone on the team really needs to hang their heads in shame - the only downside is the Warriors got an "easy W" against us - who knows that may come into play in a tie-breaker situation down the road

Why does it have to be a long 2 point shot? Why can't it be from 10-12'?

Sweet Lou made a very good point. If the 3 is not falling, move closer or take it to the rim.

Of course, because when you can't make a jumper, what could make more sense than taking a different jumper.

If you can't make a jumper, attack the basket more. The best shots are at the rim and at the line.

Harden's poor jumpshot is still lingering from the playoffs. If that J struggles in the playoffs again, it's first round and out.

He needs to develop a post up game, or a mid-range game to balance out the drives and the 3 point shot.

    lol

Maybe because Bogut is playing out of his mind defense and would have just beotch slapped the shooter at that distance. The Rockets are a great 3 point shot making team when Howard is playing. If Howard sits then it does not become all of a sudden better to start shooting the most inefficient shot there is to take. As mentioned before we have already real good mid range players but to win we need great 3 point shooters.

Thompson does his damage shooting the 3 but Ariza ran him off the perimeter all night and forced him to take the more inefficient shot and we saw he shot way below his average. Now some are saying we should do the same thing with our great 3 point shooters and force them to shoot inefficient shots.

Everyone knew that Harden;s offense would take a hit when he started to concentrate on defense. Over the season Harden will get that balance needed.

GS was protecting the rim very well and pressuring the 3point line. They basically left us room in the middle.

It's always better to take an open 15-18 foot jump shot than to take a contested 3 pointer ESPECIALLY when you are tired.

The guys were exhausted and yet still shooting 3's and missing them - because a 3 point shot is not an easy shot when you are out of breath and exhausted.

You can tell when the form is bad when a player is tired. They start "muscling" up the shots as opposed to flicking it in as much. In that situation, get closer to the basket.

I think he can develop his mid range game, without much difficulty. A post up game will be useful too.

Harden needs to cut back on the double crossover jump shot an drive more when he's tired.
