As a rookie Jonny Flynn played almost an entire season with average stats. Dorsey has never played more than a handful games in the NBA. He is a Euro tough guy.
Alright. Then it is sad that he does not know how to play the NBA game without fouling out At age 30.
If Adrien doesn't sign in China or Spain or wherever guys who aren't good enough for the NBA go then maybe we could take a look at him as our #3 PF, but I think he'd fit in better playing with Luther Head in whatever random country is paying him this year.
If you ask yourself you will come to understand if Adrien were to be on a playoff team and get extended playing time we would not have the opportunity to get him for cheap in the first place.
I do like Adrein, but now we need a replacement for Garcia with a backup center. Dorsey can't cut it. D-Mo had a good game, but his limitations are well known. Canaan's improvement has reduced our immediate need for a back up PG.
The way dmo has played this year has been terrible. Even still, Black is worse. He went undrafted for a reason. Adrien is a good player, just undersized with an inability to shoot on a team that needs shooters to space the floor. I know it's the cool thing to hate on dmo this year. But he actually does a few things well. Namely be in the right spot defensively and keep the ball moving on offense. Regardless, dmo has nothing to do with Adrien. It was always gonna come down to Adrien or Black. I think Morey made the wrong choice.
Jeff Adrien would still be on this team if jeff van Gundy was still the head coach. Adrien and Dorsey could have been the Two headed defensive monster off the bench.
Only reason why they kept Black was because he was cheap contract wise, and probably would be a more hungry player that's motivated to becoming a better player because he makes a lot less than everybody else on the team.
Dorsey played better than both Adrien and D-Mo in the regular season by far so far leading up to the final roster cuts in what little time Dorsey has seen on the floor.
I thought Dorsey was terrible when he was here the first time. And I think there's no argument to the contrary. So far he hasn't done anything at all this time either. I have to wonder though how much that has to do with being injured most of training camp and preseason. And if that injury is lingering, the jury is still out. I wanna see what happens by February. It's not looking good for Dorsey though. Still, I'd rather take a shot on Dorsey based on his accomplishments in Europe than on Black. Plus I feel there's some sense of familiarity for papanikalaou having Dorsey around. It's just conjecture, but it wouldn't be the biggest stretch to think the V-Span mishandling is still in the back of the front office's head. I remember when jake tsaskilidis (sp?) was brought in way too late to help V-Span with his homesickness. Black should have been signed solely for the Vipers. He is much much worse than Greg Smith and Smith spent his first two seasons in the d-league.
Adrien has a good midrange jumper. Watch his MIL highlights from last season. He was also showing it during the preseason games. He can rebound and shoot. And he's played vs. starters on the NBA level. Still pissed off at Morey for sacrificing him for Dorsey. Now Black is McHale's mistake. McHale misjudged Royce White also, so he's never been a good evaluator of talent.
Did you watch? Dorsey hardly played and in the PT he got, he just kept setting one moving pock after another.
He was never going to sniff the rotation during the regular season with us, so we did him a solid by letting him go and discover his new-found royalty.
