Warriors are not keeping up. They only attempted 28 3s? phooey It takes more effort to drive to the basket than to shoot 3s, esp. when Bogut is the one meeting you in the paint.
ClutchFans @clutchfans McHale thought the defense was good, but said Rockets forced too many threes, weren't moving like they should have on offense.
It's not common sense, it's intellectually lazy. Rockets don't take low% 2's They win a bunch, then lose Ergo, Rox must take more low % 2's! Hash tag roll eyes brah
It's not karma. Both teams only combined for the most 3s attempted. Rockets tied the record for most 3s made two seasons ago, which is different.
The Warriors were able to get any shot they wanted tonight. The Rockets were exclusive limited from the perimeter...there were no driving lanes, b/c the Rockets biggest staple for offense(the P/R) had no chance without a legit big who can catch/finish. DMo had his moments, but isnt built to be a bruiser in the paint. Losing 3 starters can do this to a team.
People underestimate how HUGE Dwight is for our offense. Not just post moves or the PNR, but he draws double teams and makes the game easier on the perimeter for guys like Ariza who can't shoot for **** if they aren't open
Try harder next time. People also seem to have reading comprehension issues. The 3 point shot is vital to the game, anybody that says "3s don't win championships" aka Byron Scott is living in the past and is doomed to fail. The problem is grossly oversimplifying the game and thinking that the highest % shots, 3s and layups, are always attainable. Teams play with different intensity throughout the game and clamp down , clog the paint, run you off the 3 point line like tonight (and most playoff games). In this instance, you need to move the ball around and take the midrange shot, which can be hit at a very high % if you set up screens and actually run plays. This extremely rare and hard to grasp phenomenon can be observed if you go watch your local highschool JV team play or even make a trip down to the YMCA. You don't deserve an actual response, so goto sleep knowing you got extra goodies today.
Some people on this forum have decided it's cool to be pessimistic, self loathing contrarians. No point in trying to reason with them.
And the r****ded no midrange club will never understand why the rockets collapse in the post season and that the teams that do have an effective midrange game (on top of a great 3 point game) , generally excel. It was made greatly obvious with LMA, one of the most "inefficient" shot takers in the game. It must take a great amount of skill to mask what you see with your own eyes and convince yourself of something else. Again, don't get this twisted and think I'm against 3s, the argument that the watermelon sized brain club seems to spin most of the time.
Oh I don't know....maybe move the ball... make basket cuts...space the floor...set picks. Things like that.
definitely man you can't replace a big man in the post responsible for 20 points and soo much more on defense
I for one am definitely in the "Balance between midrange and long range" club in your terms. It is not idiotic
This. 3 gets shot down easily in the playoffs. It doesn't even matter. But let's all keep cheering this bull**** philosophy. Lay ups, yeah, only Harden can get those. Screens/picks would do wonders
Warriors are a team that can clog the paint and guard the 3 point line effectively as they di tonight. But to say we don't have midrange players is crazy. Harden is a midrange player and can do damage. So is Jones. I think Kostas has a midrange game as well from what I understand. We lost tonight because we had no Dwight Howard. You take out your starting 4 and 5 and yeah, you are going to struggle in all aspects of the game. Not to mention Bev.
