As it stands now, he looks like the perfect role player for this team. He has a high basketball IQ that allows him to make plays despite his lack of nba level athleticism, he hustles on both sides of the ball, he is a good passer, makes quick decisions with the ball, plays with unflinching confidence, doesn't make a ton of mistakes, etc. He just does a little bit of everything in that role player/glue guy kind of way. These are the types of guys you find on championship rosters. In fact I'm sure Pop is drooling watching Papa because he plays a lot like a San Antonio role player. I couldn't be more excited to have him on the team.
Yeah McHale is going to have to manage his minutes and maybe even give him a game off here and there.
http://on.nba.com/10knWSH Although I can't argue that he has top level athleticism, he isn't unathletic either.
He seems to understand, already, Howard is his what Jon Berry used to call Yao "meal ticket". Love it!
I wonder if K-Pop likes K-Pop? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/bw9CALKOvAI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I agree with this. Even when he shoots like ***** I'm still happy with his output. Hopefully he just needs to make a FIBA adjustment on his shooting.
The best thing about pap apart from all those already being said, that isnt showing on the stats and iam sure you guys in Houston ll find out in the games to come, is his winner mentality. If he is on the court in critical moments, he is not really afraid or avoid to handle the ball and you can be sure he ll make the right decision, cause he truly believes he can win and that gives him clarity of mind in crucial moments.Dont know how his NBA career will turn out but i certainly know the kid isnt just going through the motions.....
the thing i really like about K Pap Da GAwd is that he does the little things well... when you watch him throw in the entry pass he is quick and decisive. He doesn't sit there for a minute trying to find a way to get the ball to Dwight like everyone else, he just throws the damn thing in their and gets out of the way. He moves well off the ball, he is a decent defender, he can knock down open shots and he can create off the dribble! I think we have found our 6th man! is he eligible for rookie of the year?

Actually McHale said this on 790 yesterday. He said they do a segment during practice for post feeding and that Pap could leave during that part of practice, go get something to eat, come back, and still be the best player on the team and passing into the post. He said that it is like being a good offensive player, a lot of it is feel and instinctual...either you have it or you don't and Pap does.
Despite his occasional struggles which are to be expected, I think it is becoming abundantly clear that spending money on Kostas and Trevor was money well spent defensively alone. $13,376,753 for both of them or $14,700,000 for that guy who's name I can't recall right now? Easy choice...
