The Knicks have Dalembert, Jason Smith, Bargnani, and Cole Aldrich. All their contracts are expiring, and all of them would be an upgrade over what we have. Smith, Dalembert, and Aldrich would all fit the Lin exception. At some point a 2nd might get one of them.
Cole Aldrich has turned himself into a very good backup center. Very good defensively. Wished we'd have signed him outright instead of Dorsey. But he's on a one-year deal in NY. I don't think we can trade for him without his permission.
Im starting to think we should just ride it out with our current roster... Team chemistry is at an all time high and i would'nt want to mess that up

What about Nate Robinson and Timofey Mozgof for Nick Johnson, Trade Exception and a late 2nd round pick? Perhaps even add in Troy Daniels if need be. Denver has a glut of centers currently and Johnson and a 2nd for Nate seems fair. Nate is an expiring. Mozgof is on a team option this summer. Would give us depth at VERY needed positions.
For the purpose of managing flexibility, I think the Rockets might want to take on an expiring contract with the $8.37M Lin trade exception ASAP just so they have the option of trading that player before the trade deadline in combination with another salary to take on a big $ star, which Morey says he wants.
Didn't even think about that fact. Brandon Bass is the perfect player then. He can help immediately seeing we need a back up PF and his contract fits the bill. And he's realistic. I don't see the Celtics saying no for him if we toss in sweeteners.
When is the last day we can acquire a player for the TPE so that we can flip him for someone else by the deadline?
so we would trade for Brandon Bass so that we can trade him back to the Celtics? I dont get it? I mean are there any other other big name players that are available (or thought to be available) other than Rondo? Becuase he is the only "star" I think we are looking at for this year.
What? No I just meant we would get Bass for our exception, but they may not want to just do that straight uo, so we give the celtics a 2nd rounder if need be. Nothing about rondo or doing another trade with Boston.
well the post you were replying to was about trading for a player now so we can have his contract to put in a trade for a star before the deadline... and since i dont think there are any stars available other than Rondo it seems like getting Bass wouldnt help. Not to mention if we had to add any sweeteners to the deal then we would have nothing to put in the deal for a star.
