This is my main question. How is his defense? Can he hit spot up threes? If he struggles with either of those things at all then I wouldn't want him on this Rockets team.
Could going after KD be just like going after Bosh? That extra $28 M just looks so enticing. I cannot even begin to speculate what is going through KD's head on contracts. No one can.
Reggie is a bad 3pt shooter and is turnover prone (A/TO better than Lin but worse than Bev). I would be ecstatic if one of our competitors signed him for anything over $7 million/year.

Durant would have another max contract to follow. More like Dwight's situation than Bosh. at 30, Bosh needed to go all in. Durant will be 27. 4 years to 31, then the 5 year max to retirement.
To answer both of your questions: Not good and no. RJ is the 100% inverse of a 3-and-D PG. If by competitor you mean another team in the NBA besides the Rockets, you will be very ecstatic next summer.

I agree. Two different players. Jackson will get paid and this will be another test on how much winning actually matters to OKC's front office.
