And why in the world any Rockets fan would actually complain about a situation that gives their team a decided advantage completely boggles my mind. The only thing that matters is wins. Wins means a higher seeding. A higher seeding gives you an increased chance to win in the playoffs. A better chance to win in the playoffs gives you a better chance to win a championship. Do I really need to remind a few of you that this is the only point of all this??? I am grateful to Mr. Popovich for giving us a better chance to win. And I hope our players do not play down to the level of this competition.
Pop knows he can't beat us. Rests 2 of his starters, because he knows the game is gone, and is trying not to just give away the psychological advantage.
It's not about giving us a chance or not. Nor is it about win/loses. As fans, we deserve and pay money to see the top talent in the world. What you're saying is quite selfish and not fair for those fans who pay monies to see 'stars' play.
Sure it's good for us Rox fans so we can notch another W, but it's bad for the game, and the fans. I know I'd be spewing if I bought tickets to a game and then find out the opposing coach pulled his best players just so they can rest, basically throwing the game and making it a dull, non-event. The league needs to throw the book at the Spurs. I hope they keep screwing around like this and miss the playoffs.
Rockets.....109 Spurs..........98 Spoiler ^^^ I didn't stutter!!... GO ROCKETS!!! ....... ....... .......
Told y'all.... Trap game. Specially more so because they will still execute and play with the same discipline of the regular spurs team.
Normally, I would agree with you 100% because, a WIN is a WIN no matter how you get it. But I did want Pops to play his guys tonight because I want to see how we respond against an "upper-echelon" team like SA. I want to see how we handle adversity and the challenges a great team can present to us. I know it's early in this season, but I would have liked to play a division rival at full strength to see to what extent we've improved from last season.
I completely agree. I thought it was great when the Spurs did the same thing in Miami, the Heat retaliated by sitting Lebron & Wade in SA. It is bad for the game and bad for the fans that pay big bucks to see those games in person. It's also another reason the 82 game season is just too long in the modern game.
I don't like this move. The Houston fans deserve the opponent's team's best players. Unless the Rockets just really take the night off they are going to kill the Almost Spurs.
No Duncan and Manu huh. I'm going to predict the Rockets get down big early and then make a great comeback. Barkley will then say we're not a contender because we should have blown them out.
I'd be stunned if they traveled with the team. Why bother taking the flight if you're not even gonna suit up? Just stay home and rest.
If SA wants to rest a couple of their big guns against us than more power to them. It's a huge opportunity for us to take a game from them.
Cheer from the sidelines, give advice during timeouts, just be there for your team? Even injured players wear suits and sit on the end of the bench don't they?
Games like this are so annoying. Rockets lose, they can't even beat the Spurs resting their stars. Rockets win, well duh the Spurs were resting their stars.
i think we need to stop complaining. so what if our team is not tested against the Spurs, we 4-0ed them last year and if we can blow them out tonight we can rest the starters for the Warriors game on Saturday, which should be a really competitive game
