seems like phil is gonna go down as the only coach to keep kobe in check. byron doesn't have the credentials to keep kobe in check. the whole organization lets kobe do whatever he wants with no accountability. hey as long as kobe has 39 points on 37 shots while alianting the rest of his teammates that's all that matters! i said before the season that the lakers would turn into a sideshow with the selling point being "come watch kobe score a lot of points on a lot of shots in his quest to chuck his way to being the all time leading scorer!" and that magic johnson tweet confirms it.

Isn't this why Kobe burned out last season - played too many minutes, carried too much of the burden? At this rate his body will shut down by mid-season.
