The talent is there. I think it's the mental aspect that's holding him back.

What has happened to his game? I remember when we first signed him he seemed to have low post moves and good handles with a decent shot. Now he just stands around and bricks shots.

He doesn't seem like the same player at all. At first I thought maybe he was frustrated with his role and pouting, but he got the start last night and though he got into foul trouble, he looked awful when he played

If I may be allowed to freak out a little too much for a minute...

    • He's too weak to establish position on the inside to use his post moves
    • His outside shot hasn't improved and judging by his brick laying at the FT line, I doubt he'll ever be a good jump shooter
    • He's too weak to play center on defense; he's too immobile to be a PF on defense
    • He's a poor rebounder due to his lack of strength, athleticism, short arms, and weak hands
    • Anytime he's on the court the opposing team should have his man involved in a PnR as it is a basket and/or foul every time

Now that I've got that out of my system...

Give him a break, guys! It's early. He's had some good games in the past. Let's see how he does against SA when we will need his size.

There's something about DMo this season that's bothering me... It's not so much his bricks or lack of rebounding rather than him being too tentative, soft. I think he's starting to realize that he may never become a star (or even a starter) in this league and it's getting to him to the point where he's not even trying that much when given the chance to prove himself (unlike last season for example).

Man, I feel bad for him and worse at how Clutchfans just rag on him.

I think he's got talent and needs to get his head in the game. Sending you positive vibes big man, you've got the talent now put it to better use on the floor!

And for all you haters, we are still 5-0 despite the travesty that is DMO. :roll eyes:

How bout a little support for all of our players, especially when the team is doing so well.

This team doesn't have a huge window, Dwight is almost 30, and for an under-sized C that relys on athleticism that is not a good thing. We can't wait on D Mo to get better (and IMO it's unlikely that he ever will), he needs to be gone by the deadline.

I think his confidence has taken a tumble this year. Looks like he realized he can only go so far as his talent allows him.

Turned from "don't go to the woods if you scared of wolves" to "I need to leave my TV on so I can get to sleep"

Dmo is sadly underwhelming given the abilities he seems to possess. Hopefully we can package him, the Pels pick, and one of Canan/Daniels/Terry for a real serious PF to push TJ for starter roll. Adrien would have given us more by accident in the last few games from a defensive and hustle standpoint than Dmo has so far this season.

I think his confidence is just shot. I've said that he is the PF version of Jeremy Lin. These guys have serious confidence issues.

DMo had some good games last year when he got the start... and then just dropped off. It showed me that he had some capability. But he's tentative. He doesn't assert himself. And when he's tentative, he plays like garbage. His shots don't fall. He looks clueless. That's exactly what Lin's like.

I guess he's just tired. Played in fiba, then SL, then Preseason...no rest at all.

One can only take so much suck from a scrub before we just give up on trying to be high on him. D-Mo is a scrub, plain and simple. Scrubs don't get love. Role players that hustle their ass off on the other hand do.

Even though he didn't score much in Miami, I thought he played okay. He needs to learn to command his own space without using his hands.

    Tired?.. You mean physically?

He played 9 games in FIBA and averaged 17mpg.

He didn't get many minutes in the preseason either.

Mental fatigue maybe... And that's a big maybe. Chances are he just has basketball mindset issues to begin with.
