I actually think there has been a LOT of improvement on the offensive end this year. Still a lot of isos, but we're seeing way more movement off the ball and we're actually seeing some plays out of bounds. I also like how Harden is starting off the ball a bit more too.
The nicest thing about 5-0 is that it cools off a lot of the yapping about McHale, as if once CF reaches 1,000,000 post about replacing him, that Les will finally give in and fire him. It doesn't work that way. He's here until next offseason and then playoff success (and perhaps behinds the scenes stuff) will determine whether the Rockets bring him back, so enough about McHale. He's here. Deal with it.
Then he should kindly hand the trophy over to T.R Dunn and thank Morey for hiring a defensive minded coach who's been working under Rick Adelman. Genious!
Maybe it's a way to conserve energy, but the Rockets offense has played more like JVG offense than what we're used to seeing. The shocking thing is that our efficiency have not dropped despite being more half-court, due to just insane 3pt shooting. Which makes me lament even more of what could've been during the Yao & T-Mac era if we had some competent shooters to surround them.
I hope so. There is a lot of unnecessary McHale hate. I hope some of it was a compromise with Lin Fans. It's funny how James Harden maturing into a top-5 player will change opinions about anything Rockets. Our team was immature last year and we've added some great veteran depth (Ariza, Terry), but particularly Papanikolau who plays like a true vet-ran but is only 24.
I've been really hoping Lon would play great in LA and prove his worth in the NBA. Not to spite McHale, but because I thought he was a good kid who deserved it. His struggles thus far, while disappointing for me, have at least in some way vindicated the way McHale used him.
Kevin McHail is the ****... this team looks amazing. I'm sure he if finally glad to get rid of those low iq players and get some smart ballers in here like Ariza, Kostas, Terry.
