Wasn't there a guy in Louisiana that shot and killed his son's molester while the guy was being put up for trial?

I think the judge only gave the guy 5 years of probation and didn't even give him jail time. Louisiana has lax vigilante justice laws i think..

 

If it happened in the US, I'd agree, but in India, I highly doubt a daughter is going to tell her dad she was raped unless it really happened.

 

It takes a real man to turn himself in. Only cowards like that rapist would run!!!

 

I think the Don would say "That is not justice, your daughter is still alive"

Like a lot of folks here, I'm left feeling really bad for the young girl and her family, and yes, assuming the story is all true, even the father, to a degree. I'm also left wondering why on earth this rapist came back to the victim's apartment, where the father then had his own kind of justice. Too strange.

 

After reading the second by bobloblaw, I'm starting to wonder. For the sake of everyone's peace of mind, I hope he really was a villain who got what he deserved.

 

Rape in India? That's unpossible.

 

He died after getting his genitals burned three times? Sounds fishy, think the father killed the guy after applying the burns.

Maybe because rapists aren't punished frequently or heavily in those parts.

 

I see where you're coming from but assuming the father goes to prison, that daughter that was raped is now without a father to help raise and protect her while he serves his sentence. He has now put more strain on the mother, the raped daughter and any other family members involved. That's really unfortunate.

 

They have different laws for non-whites?

 

Forensic evidence of some kind, enough questioning to dismiss the possibility of consent. Otherwise you're operating in a lynching culture.

 

But on the other hand she doesn't worry about there being a guy in her neighborhood who has raped her and gone unpunished.

 

Give the man a position in the police force, and set him loose to 'do likewise' to anyone else committing the same crime.

Then make giant billboards of him holding the hot tongs

It would surely lower the incidence...

 

Unless he might beat the crap out of her for schtupping out of caste or pre-maritally or something.
