Went to the Rockets-Celtics game. Obviously not the best competition, and we were way up in the top sections. But it was opening night. And I paid about $20 per seat. I agree though. I would love to sit closer, but they are just so expensive. Then, when you get to the stadium, it looks like maybe only 1/2-3/4 of the seats are full in those sections.
Fact is though those seats are sold and the money they generate pays for the majority of the players salaries. I'm glad there are people willing to pay $25k for a seat a year down there.
my tickets to the celtics game was 50 bucks...in basically the same area my tickets to the mavs game coming up is 68 bucks. depends on the opponent.
Take advantage of.. discounts through Clutchfans Rockets promotions craigslist flashseats If you're lucky you will find good value. I managed to get lower bowl tickets $20 cheaper than face-value through a promotion posted in the GARM a month or so ago ( this one ... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=258541&highlight=united)
Thanks for that post. I was about to buy tickets then I saw the prices on a) rockets.com b) stubhub and balked. Bought 2 for $27.50 each, not bad compared to the $50ish they were trying to charge on the Rockets website...
Speaking of tickets, why is the rockets/toyotacentertix interface so atrocious? Unreadable captchas, timers everywhere, inability to chose specific seats and exorbitant transaction fees! In contrast i had an excellent experience buying tix for the Celtics in Boston. Toyota center should be embarrassed that they peddle that crap out year after year
I live in LA and had to pay $203/ticket for the second level for the season opener...be grateful guys T___T
We watched the PRE-season game against the Spurs in teh lower bowl. Worth every penny. When you have a super talented and entertaining team like this years', it's worth it. and the benefits were kinda nice too ! Go Rockets Gurl ! (my wife...lol) Every one's a Winner baby, that's the truth...etc/
in my experience, YES, Rocket's tickets are relatively expensive compared to most teams I go to Nuggets games fairly regularly for about 1/4 of the price of a Rocket's ticket generally
Yeah, the tickets are broken down into A,B,C,D an early season match up vs. the Spurs or Dallas are obviously A games (ie the most expensive). You can see a lot of good games in the B and C range for cheaper. PHX, Portland, Chicago, GS and Memphis will probably all be good games with cheap tickets.
