Parsons playing very well against the Pelicans. That's too bad. I like this thread better when he sucks.
Looking solid.. no fun when he does well. But he's being guarded by two no defense shooting guards and a no defense stretch power forward. I've lost interest in this game...
Reality is and always will be that Parsons is a good player. Emphasis on good. He will have good games and bad games. I don't expect his averages to be much different than they were last year when everything is all said and done. It was always a matter of weighing his production vs. the contract Dallas offered. Ariza and Pap are great replacements for him at the same combined salary whereas last year we had Parsons and nothing behind him. Add in the fact that his douche factor has skyrocketed exponentially since he left starting with his nightclub picture with Cuban, his comments and recent rap video make me more content with his loss. I was one of the people who said we shouldn't match that contract as soon as I read about it. I just wish we had traded his ass and actually gotten something useful in return.
Was hearing the post game report on 103.3 ESPN and they had a caller come in and say Chandler can't create his own shot and even though he gets stuck, he still continues the possession like his brain is stuck in neutral.
Just a quick comparison of Ariza and Parsons tonight after their respective games in which both of them won. Player----Pts-----FG%-----3p%-----Reb-----Ast----Stl-----Blks----Eff. Parsons-- 20 ---- .54% --- .33% --- 4 ------ 4 ---- 0 ------ 0 ----- - 7 (lowest on the team) Ariza----- 9 ----- .44% --- .33% --- 8 ------ 1 ---- 0 ------ 0 ----- +26 (highest on team) In Morey I trust! This is one more example of the brilliance of that man. Ariza so far this year deserves Parsons pay and vice versa. P.S. - Thank you Parsons for helping increase our asset values (Pelicans Pick). Morey must be grinning from ear to ear right now.
One interesting note for us all who want to be negative on Parsons. At the end of the game, Rick took out Parsons for defensive possessions.
Parsons played very well tonight and people still nitpicking. LOL. And he still needs time to adjust to a new team, new role, and new expectations.
And Ariza's defensive assignment, Jeff Green: 17 pts on 7-19 (37%), 1-7 3FG (14%), -22 How did Parsons's defensive assignment do?
If it was Tyreke Evans then he scored 22 pts on 8-19 shooting paired with 10 rebs and 9 assists with a +9 rating (highest on the squad)
His free throw shooting has been better, although he punked us by hitting his first 15-20 last year too
Most likely not, but let him play out a season before judging him. He played well tonight, and some fools are still going to nitpick him is ridiculous.
So far Parsons is 15points, 5 reb, 2 ast. To paraphrase Denny Green, "Parsons is who we thought he was".
New expectations could mean running a bunch of pick and rolls. On that team he'll probably be running more P&Rs with Dirk than their decrepit PG rotation.
