I was more impressed by Brandon Bass. Sucks to think we could have had him AND Courtney Lee plus a pick for Asik. We could have had a ring with that haul. But no, had to chase Carmelo.
Wait, this is sarcastic right? This trade would have prevented us from getting Ariza. Asik = NO Pick + Ariza (cap space) + Jason Terry (Through Gee) + 2nd round picks. This is a joke, right?
Well you must hate every that plays sports . Better yet every business have its inconsistent days as well. Lol man Jones is playing his role. He played a very good game tonight. How about we give this man props for having a great game.
Im more so talking effort level his effort is inconsistent P Bev isnt always going to have a steller defensive night but you know his defensive prowess and effort level for it will be consistent you know.. the same reason Hardens defense was ragged on last year- he had the talent for it but his effort level for it wasnt always there... Thats Terrence Jones entire game and career in a nutshell he shows amazing flashes showing he has some unique and rare talents to just decide to be lazy and go into lala land for several outings before trying again thats what im getting at and its also why our four is the weakest link of the team Props to Jones for tonight and I want to see him succeed.. Im was sooo high on this guy for years- But if he decides to be inconsistant this year I say trade him for a PF inwhich we know what to expect out of him night in and night out... even if his talent isnt as good as Jones it would make the team better.. to have someone reliable at the four
You are impressed with 8 points and 5 rebounds. You are over thinking it bud. Championship yeah we are being sarcastic for show. Lol
Hmm that weakest link can get you 20 and 10. But his role on this isn't design for that because of Harden and Howard being the main scores. But I get what you are saying. He do have bring it on a consistent effort, especially against elite bigs.
If you think all he does is put up stats against bad teams you didn't watch the Rockets very much last season. When judging Terrence Jones production against opposing Power Forwards, regardless of who the Power Forward is, its important to remember that Terrence Jones was the 4th option on offense last season. When he went up against players like Dirk, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love or Zebo he was going up against the other teams 1st option. Additionally, a lot of those guys are hall of fame type of players, if we are really expecting Terrence or any other Power Forward to out play those guys are just unrealistic expectations. Furthermore, Terrence was just 21 years old in his 2nd season when he took over the starting job so he was hardly a finished product. Getting that out of the way, did he really only play well against bad players? Here is Terrence Jones stat line vs the following opponents: 11/16/13 vs. Kenneth Farried and the Nuggets 14 pts 13 rebs 3 blks 11/17/13 vs Dirk and the Mavericks 18 pts 2 rebs 11/23/13 vs Kevin Love and the Twolves 18 pts 10 pts 2 blks 11/27/13 vs Paul Milsap and the Hawks 14 pts 6 rebs 1 blk 11/30/13 vs Tim Duncan and the Spurs 10 pts 16 rebs 12/6/13 vs David Lee and the Warriors 16 pts 10 rebs 3 blks 3 stls 12/25/13 vs Tim Duncan and the Spurs 21 pts 14 rebs 3 blks 12/26/13 vs Zach Randolph and the Grizzlies 20pts 5 rebs 2 blks 12/28/13 vs Anthony Davis and the Pelicans 17 pts 8 rebs 3 blks 1/11/14 vs Nene and the Wizards 19 pts 17 rebs 3 blks 1/15/14 vs Anthony Davis and the Hornets 25 pts 8 rebs 6 blks 1/16/14 vs Serge Ibalka and the Thunder 16 pts 13 rebs 1 blk 2 stl 1/28/14 vs Tim Duncan and the Spurs 21 pts 9 rebs 1 blk 1/29/14 vs Dirk and the Mavs 16 pts 5 rebs 3/1/14 vs Greg Monroe and the Pistons 22 pts 10 rebs 1 blk 3/4/14 vs Chris Bosh and the Heat 19 pts 12 rebs 1 blk 4/4/14 vs Serge Ibalka and the Thunder 16 pts 11 rebs 2 blks 2 stls 4/14/14 vs Tim Duncan and the Spurs 20 pts 11 rebs 2 stls That’s a lot of games against a lot of very high quality Power Forwards where Terrence Jones made significant contributions. In a lot of those games Terrence absolutely out played his opponent and in many of them his opponent was better. It is not a realistic expectation to think Terrence or any Power Forward we could acquire could do better. As a 2nd year player 1st season starter, Terrence was certainly not ready for the play-offs. As a 21 or 22 year old he simply was not strong enough against many of the Power Forwards. But to say Terrence Jones never played well against good power forwards is nothing but pure fiction. Has Terrence taken a step forward from last season? We will not know for sure until the season progresses and he has had a chance to go up against the better Power Forwards of the league. But stop with the misinformation that Terrence only played well against bad Power Forwards.
Come on man.. I can go into the Archive to pull out some crazy statistics on Lin last year- doesn't mean he was a big plus for our team. I don't think the Rockets need 20 and 10 every single night and i dont expect that- they need him more so to show overall court awareness.. not slack around every other night like you just woke up falling over your own feet, taking plays off, letting balls fly by hyou, taking bad shots when its not falling when other teammates are open and then getting blitzed by effort alone by opposing players. Just be a consistent roleplayer, keep hands straight up on D, run your sets, put effort into those loose balls-let the game come to you and fulfill your role Im critical of Jones because Jones shows to have 1000x the potential that D-Mo has- if you take Jones talent and D-Mo's work ethic- combine them into 1 then you would have a superstar theres no reason for him not to put that effort in Infact the only thing i truly think holding Jones back from being a star in the league is reliability and consistency- him bringing effort night in and out the scary thing is that is hard to develop or teach- you either have that ethic or you dont and ive seen many players with some amazing potential flutter out because of that- my only hope is Jones is young but if he doesnt show it this year then I would trade him while his stock is high for a quality and reliable PF
what was his statline vs. homeless guys? Just kidding. Some fans do seem forget that TJ is young. Not every player is polished at age 21-22. I could see TJ as a top 7 PF in two years. Fringe all-star, solid player. His ups and downs are noted, and he needs to become more consistent for my above prediction to come true. Despite my disdain for his iso-mode, I think he has a long, productive career ahead of him.
Jones is a keeper. This is one guy Doral menthol smooth Morey better hang onto. He is making leaps and bounds every year. Need to give him a chance to develop before giving up on him. Tjones is still very young but is already showing plenty of maturity. He is inconsistent at times like for example tonight in the second half against Boston but, that just goes along with his inexperience due to being young. I'm pretty sure he will stomp out all of his inefficiencies as he grows older.
Those who believe in Dmo or a veteran PF do feel the urge to hate on Terrence for strange reasons. Not everyone but there are tons of them. Morey is the guy who has preferred other POSITIONS over PF. If you want to blame someone for the PF situation in nearly 20 years then it is management who preferred C, SFs over PFs. I really do not blame them but the PF situation could have been much better if we focused on it earlier, before Yao Ming's era came about.
