As someone else said, this could be a blessing in disguise (unless Bev is out for a long period of time). Move Canaan into the starting lineup and see what he can do. If he rises to the challenge, then you may have your long term starter or a really good trade asset. Terry can't and shouldn't start. It would wear him out and leave our bench devoid of experience and playmaking.
We already have the best shooter ever on our roster. His first name spells like "Trey." Who needs Ray Allen?
Posted on Mavs Moneyball: "Feels bad man, I really thought that Mekel could grow this year. He seemed like the only young guy on the Mavs to actually develop."
He was actually signed with a NBA team couple days ago, well, maybe a tryout but I saw his name being mentioned.
It's only happened 4 or 5 times recently back to back, but nothing to worry about. Alston to Brooks to Lowry to Dragic to Lin to Beverly... it's not really a pattern. Nope.
Actually signing Gal Mekel is not a bad idea. A 6'3 point guard that can pass and is capable of scoring when needed, and on top of that he's white, and Republican Rockets fans will instantly make him a fan favorite just off of his skin color alone.
I asked Jonathan Feigen and this is what he said.. Rockets landed about an hour ago. Was told there'd be no update until tomorrow. RT @jonas_XV: @Jonathan_Feigen Any word on @patbev21

Bev is an injury ticking time bomb. He didn't repair the meniscus injury and it will never heal on its own, it will only continue to tear. I hope that the stubbornness that makes him a great defender isn't his undoing after he comes back from this hammy injury. This all could be a blessing in disguise. I would rather have the backup plan get tested know rather than in game 2 against Rockets 1st round opponent.
