That's what she said. I think Morey's interest would be real, and I think to get him the offer would have to be substantial, not the table-scraps variety that some are suggesting. Since the NO pick and Capela and whatever doesn't blow anyone's hair back, we'd certainly have to take Bass off their hands (using our TPE)....although I'd rather re-route Bass' expiring to another team, for a player that would better serve us. But maybe Ainge keeps thinking, "But I can trade Bass and whatever picks for an upgrade and rebuild around Rondo; I'll wait and see which way the cat jumps as far as other teams are concerned."
I'm not sure what the Celtics will do. I'm in the trade Rondo camp but I don't fully believe Ainge wants to move him. I think Ainge will try to trade for someone to pair with Rondo or only move Rondo for a nice haul. Just my guess but just like a lot of teams Boston will try to acquire Gasol from the Grizzlies. I dont want to give up Smart I think he is going to be really good but my guess is IF the Grizzlies started to lose this season that is where the conversation would start. The Celtics will definitely try to talk to him next offseason when he is a FA. Anige tried hard to acquire Love IMO he wants a winner sooner than later.
I honestly don't see a us having anything anige would want. Your team is looking good so far, their rebuild is going perfect, and have a solid coach. Playoffs forsure this year. Sullinger is everything we want jones to be. If you guys trade rondo I think anige would be looking for a SF/G scorer and a solid defensive center to pair with sullinger at PF. something like asik, lin, parsons last year at the deadline. for rondo and bass. What do you think ?
Plowman will soon adjust his timeline to December. Oh how October has come and gone. This is why one shouldn't be so cavalier.
Let him have Bev. Not that I don't like the guy, but Rondo is an upgrade in every way except 3 point shooting, something Bev looks better at this year but is still not elite at.
You know this kinda got me thinking about last year at the deadline. I'm going rip off Bill Simmons for a second to channel my inner "Clairvoyant Dobro" here for a minute. Let's take a trip back to last February- Remember how it was rumored that the Rockets wouldn't give up Parsons and that's why the Rondo deal never really took off? I'm thinking now that the Rockets actually might have very well pulled the trigger on this deal, but when Parsons and Fegan caught wind of it, I think they had to of sabotaged the deal however they could and ultimately that ended up killing the deal for Rondo. Reason being: Remember the Rockets apparently had a deal in place in signing Dwight that they would let Parsons out of his contract early this past Summer which they made good on. Ainge and the Celtics most likely were asked by Fegan if they would uphold that promise on their end, to which Ainge said hell no. I'm out on this deal. I think this under-the-table power-play deal that Morey made with Fegan not only burned the Rockets with the Parsons contract letting him out needlessly a year early, and ultimately cost them the Jeremy Lin to LA draft pick as well (because of the time-frame in free agency and the clock ticking on the Parsons decision). But it also might have cost the Rockets the ability to trade for Rondo as well last February given the fact that Parsons and Fegan knew it would cost him getting out of his contract a year early like he was supposed to with Houston. Anways... just a little speculation on my part, but the pieces of this fit. It just really sucks. Damn you Dan Fegan you POS.
Absolutely. It's still Dragic or Bledsoe or Rondo or Rubio. Wait for the Bledsoe extension talks Wait for the Rubio extension talks Wait for the Rondo extension talks Keep waiting.........SOON!!!
i would love to see rondo on this team. i think he is the missing link and perfect fit. i just wish the rockets had more to offer in a trade. now that davis looks like a basketball god on the hornets i just dont see it.
The way I see it, there's nothing left for Rondo in Boston so if he doesn't get traded then he's walking in FA anyway. Haha if I was Ainge I wouldn't put my eggs in the rebuilding around Rondo basket.
