Ignoring entirely that we added Ariza, who is a better fit and arguably a better player than Parsons, and that we have a year of Harden and Howard gelling behind us now, and several young players likely to improve. Not saying we're going to be better, we might've gotten a bit worse, but not much.

Charles "They should have never traded him..." (On Asik)

So many things wrong with this statement, obviously if the Rockets could have kept him they would have.

Whew! We dodged a $15,000,000 bullet when we dumped Lin on the Lakers (even though it would have cost us just 8 mil it still feels better when I say it the other way)

My God does he Suck! Lin you are better than this.

realistically speaking, how can you say we are better? Our 2nd team is awful, compared to having Asik and lin off the bench last season, Asik alone was our biggest hit of course, being able to have a big defensive threat at almost all times on the court, but you can't honestly say we are BETTER.

At most i think you could argue that we broke even.

Of course, as Houston fans, we are maybe just a bit biased. Pretty much everyone outside of Houston is saying the same thing: 7th or 8th seed in the West. I say he could get higher than that but this team is not built for the playoffs, unfortunately.

We had the 2nd worst bench in the entire nba last year, because a) Asik didn't play much and when he did, he sulked, and b) we were literally rolling out players on the wings who couldn't do anything (shoot, defend, pass, score, nothing)

In case you've forgotten how **** we really were

Houston sports fans, we have Jose Altuve on the Astros, JJ Watt on the Texans, and James Harden on the Rockets, 3 legitimate MVP candidates in their respective leagues. Regardless of team outcomes, it's a good time to be an H-town sports fan.

People think that we lost some all-star talent in Parsons and very few want to see that Ariza is a better fit and may even be the better player (Just as Batum is a better player than Parsons...) and that I don't know, Jlin was our Jamal Crawford off the bench or something?

Honestly, I have a lot more faith in the playoffs in Jason Terry (If he can make it that far) than Jlin. That guy has been there, done that, got the tshirt and the ring.

And people are not counting for our superstar players playing better. They count that for other teams superstar players like Curry or Westbrook...but I guess people don't think Harden and Howard can play any better than last season.

I disagree with this and I think the Rockets will be right up in there going for the 3rd and 4th seed once again.

The awful Lakers got it to within 6 against our bench. No Asik = no rim protection. No Lin = no playmaking (Canaan, also, is an awful defender). Canaan was a no-show today. Daniels bricked a bunch. DMo was no show. Black was no show. I think Papa hit a couple shots and Terry hit a three. Other teams will attack our bench.

Ariza and Harden and Dwight (and Jones on occasion) are what this team is all about. And its good to see Bev hit his threes.

I think what he meant was, we are evenly matched in the starting lineup when Jones shows up

2nd unit is another story. Last year we did not know about the starting lineup. We hoped Parsons would provide D and the PF situation was even worse.

That was our starters (-Dwight, but Dmo at center) until James decided to just take it on himself, lol

The very end, i know Daniels is a better shooter than that, hell he's done it in the playoffs, dropping a few points in garbage time when someone we know is a great shooter is just off is hardly the end of the world...well maybe it is for you.

    Oh, the irony.

On the FT's for the double-techs that were called on Dwight and Kobe,
Dwight sinks both of his like a boss.
Kobe turns around and chokes his second shot.

I laughed out loud when that happened.

You know that had to have irked Kobe to the max.
Dwight got the best of him at free throws.
    (Not to mention elbows.....lol)

I don't feel bad for the Lakers at all. (with the exception of Randle)
But Kobe talks down to his teammates and let's them know it's HIS team.
The primary reason Dwight left for higher ground.
Kobe, how's YOUR team looking now?

I'm sure glad you're soaking up all of that salary in LA LA land!
Nobody's beating down the door to come be your side kick for minimum wage
(Shut up Boozer, you don't count)

A GREAT way to start the season. A beatdown in LA town

Bynum would be nice.... they need somebody. Harden will be exhausted before Feb.

Funny how they didn't mention they added a starter (Ariza). Plus one of those starters (Asik) missed most of last season.

Rockets defense looked pretty good. Give me Ariza's lesser offense and added defense over Parson's attributes.
