Exactly! This is why nobody can argue that Mark Madsen had so much more drive to win championships than Dwight.

    The argument is bulletproof.

Well since Byron Scott is telling truth, Mchale should issue a statement on why Charles Barkley wasn't serious about winning like he was.

    No problem with that right?

Let me go ahead save some of you guys the trouble and link you to the lakersground register page: http://forums.lakersground.net/profile.php?mode=register

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. I think you're calling yourself pathetic, there, sir, because it is your reading comprehension that's in question. If you can't see that the pronoun "it" in this case is referring to "championships," then you are the one that needs to brush up on his understanding of English grammar.

And it certainly is in the right of a Rockets fan to not ignore this and comment about it- you do realize the purpose of a fan message board is to post opinions about topics, right? A news story that has been on ESPN's front-page list for the past 2 days is certainly worthy of commentary, particularly b/c it reinforces what many ignorant yahoos believe to be true (go read the ESPN comments for proof).

If you don't want to read people's comments on the matter, I suggest you.... don't read their comments. We all know your schtick,anyway- the one who thinks it's cool to be the critic for the sake of being the critic and pump that up by denigrating anyone who happens to be more of a fan than you are. It's been going on for years, and it's not going to change anytime soon, short of a championship (and even then, you'll probably find something to b**** about, as is your custom), so we expect it from you. But you can just shut your hole anytime now about criticizing us if we feel like saying something about it.

Did anyone else hear Jeanie Buss get interviewed in (I think) the 2nd qtr last night?
I thought she spoke really well and very highly about Dwight and hope that many in the media and the Dwight haters take note of what she said.

Found the quote in an article - “To me, from Day One, Dwight’s aspiration was to win a championship,” Buss said. “And when we got him, that day my phone started ringing and (fans) were like, ‘I want to buy tickets to see Steve Nash and Dwight Howard and the Lakers are going to win a championship. I want to buy tickets to one game.’ So I said, ‘You know what? If you’re going to go to one game, wait until January because my understanding is that Dwight’s back isn’t 100 percent and he might not be playing until later, so I don’t want you to come to one game and miss him.’

“So I couldn’t understand from the first day of training camp how he was practicing. But you know why? Because he was so eager to win that championship. That’s all he wanted. He came with the best of intentions. He was great with the media. He was great with all of our charity, all of our events, all of our sponsors, all of our partners. He came one day because he wanted to meet all of the employees. He just wanted to meet the employees. This was a guy who came (to the Lakers), and we let him down. That’s how I felt.”
