"excelled in this league" is hyperbole. Lets not go overboard, he is an end of bench guy that wouldn't have played at all short of major injuries. I still have a hard time understanding the reaction to cutting our 12th-13th guy.

a 6'7 pf bouncing around the league is not someone who can solidify a position. he's no more than the last man on the bench and would probably be better off playing overseas

Problems other than not reaching the 3rd round and barely reaching 2nd round in the playoffs, selling fans a bright future while getting out of the West seems to be impossible in recent history.

Morey's ways have been discussed thousands of times.
His hyperactivity to improve the team, but losing focus how to structure good enough role players to balance out the roster. (One time he has 2 superstars and then he is surrounding them with crappy players, losing himself in the pursuit of a "third star"(a system that has proven success in the East but relative success in the West.
(The other time he has no stars and he is signing questionable stars like "Asik" "Lin" "first time Ariza""Rarely clutch Kevin Martin")

The problems lie deeper than Adrien but you guys are harping on just one bad decision (Garcia, Dorsey, (Capela) over a good hustling guy like Adrien)
    Even old Terry.

Bad decisions are piling up. You need stability, consistency, a good system, a good coach, a GM that is looking to not just win a championship but being a Top 3 team in the West year in year out.
Ask the Spurs, Ask the Thunder

nobody belongs in the same category as the spurs. What about the Thunder? they've haven't won anything significant and still have the same problems they've had for years.

OKC is on the right track, they do not have money and a market.

They are doing well without having the best player but a couple of players that are in the Top 5.

Remember OKC are not the Sonics, they are a newly reformed team. Doing so well in their history of 6-8 years or less is formidable.

They are the God version of the former Charlotte Bobcats. (Now Hornets)

All this DRAMA about a guy that would ride the bench and PROBABLY would be released if we found a point guard upgrade.

DMo will be the primary backup C. He was the 3rd string C last season.

Dorsey or Black will only play if
    1. DMo is getting pushed around against a big bodied with some offensive game
    2. DMo gets in foul trouble
    3. Howard gets hurt

Black and Adrien are similar and kind of a toss up. In this kind of situations, it makes sense to keep the younger guy. But Dorsey over either of them doesn't look very good.

These posts by Adrien fans are eerily similar to LOF's. Very strange.

Okc is right on track to lose their 2nd and best young superstar in 5 years if they don't get their act together.

If keeping Perkins at all cost is your idea of stability give me roster turnover.

Lastly the only thing consistent about the Spurs cast is Duncan, Man, Parker, Pop, and Buford. Their supporting cast has always morphed and changed over the years. If not they'd still be banking on guys like Bonner and Steven Jackson. The Spurs have been big advocates of moving vet role players off of the end of their bench to develop guys like Baynes, Joseph, and Ayres. They have as much roster turnover with their role players as anyone else in the league.

Harden and Howard are here to stay along with Morey. That's 3 for 5 so far with their core.

Newsflash - the Rockets role players will continue to change over every once in awhile and for good reasons. Unless last years backup cast just blew your socks off.

The best option is to acquire/sign players that are not too inexperienced and not considered "old". (25-29 favorable) 24 are also ok

    Black 22 yr old
    Jones 22 yr old
    Moti 23 yr old

Dorsey 30 yr old but inexperienced in terms of NBA years

Yes, except Lin was a legitimate 1st or 2nd string player. Adrien is a 3rd string player ...at best.

Everyone has been wanting a PG but we had a pressing need at PF that if not taken care of would mean a probable 1st round exit. If Black and Dorsey can solidify the 4-5 spot behind Dmo and TJ then we can now concentrate on getting that PG that everyone has been crying about.

Adrien is too short to bang consistently in the west. Yes he has good motor but he would get chewed up and be a non entity when the playoffs come. I like the dude but he can barely crack the 14-15 man bench spot.

I would have no problem with cutting Adrien if Morey would have signed Taj Gibson, Ryan Anderson, Ersan, Patterson, Amir Johnson, Henson.......

No real problem. The reality is nobody is sold on young players until they are Allstar caliber and willing to give us really good players.

It depends on where on the bench the player is supposed to be. If he's expected to be a regular backup, then you want experience. If he's the 11th or 12th guy on the bench, you want youth for potential development into a solid rotation player.

You are right. Dorsey is neither experienced nor young.

Assuming the roster is what it is, DMo will be the primary backup big. If McHale wants a 3-man front line rotation (with some small ball lineup thrown in), then Black/Dorsey will only see spot minutes. If McHale uses a 4-man rotation, then one of Black and Dorsey will be in the regular rotation.

Thanks. I guess I am familiar with the rotations. It is just I ask myself where the organization is going with this?

1st round, 2nd round? They have "treading water" mentality all written over those moves

I am asking where are the assets to get us better players?

No young player (other than Harden) is good enough to reap some good players.
    Not Beverley (who is solid)

Developing players are ok. But isn't Howard 29 and turning 30 real soon? Once his athleticism is gone we don't know what we have any more.
It is not that his postgame is elite.

Hope is the only thing a fan can do. I just think knowing more about what the direction the team is going, and making those moves visible to us fans would be spot on.

At least Cuban is doing what he has been preaching.
Morey is telling stories to the public but some moves have been a mystery.

Im said...couldve really used Jeff Adrien tonight. It sucks we gave Dorsey a contract. Period. He is so bad, that Mchale would rather start an undersized undrafted Rookie at center...than him. SMH.

Hoping the Rockets find a way to make a small trade in order to get a legit big. Anyone that can take on salary.. Heck pay them a 2nd rounder to take Dorsey. Anything to bring back Adrien.
