I'd honestly rather have Lin as a backup pg than Canaan at this point. Lin played very well when he did his thing. Came off the bench as a spark, ran, scored, got people involved. When things slowed down, he got confused, did stupid things. As a backup though coming in behind the tenacious defender in Beverly? I thought it brought a good 1-2 punch to the PG rotation. Start off with tough D, then hit the gas with Lin. I still support the trade though, can't afford the cost, but I didn't mind his play really at all (minus the playoffs -- ewww). He's no starting PG, but a backup on a run and gun team? I'd take him.
i now have jlin.net as a bookmark on my mac. when the rockets arnt playing and lin is 1-9 with 6 TO's i want to be thier to see it explode
What does me being the #2 poster in this thread have to do with that? I'm simply responding to comments and weighing in on the issue at hand. I was just pointing out your e-meltdown and wishing you the best at work today. You seem to have calmed down and I'm sure both the breakfast and lunch crowds are better for it.
As I mentioned earlier that's the best assessment on where his career is at. The Rockets had to include a first round pick just to give him to a lottery team and said team still put him on the pine (where he belongs as we've seen for the past few seasons). When lin is out of the league in a few years I can only assume the vast majority of his fan base will take their own lives.
#1 is Clutch. I'm number #485. There is an era where Clutchfans were exactly that, fans who love Clutch City. Because Clutchfans is derived from Clutch City, the greatest era in Rockets history with the greatest heroes. Clutch City had truely Clutch players like Robert Horry who wins championships and playoff series with game winning shots and critical plays in the game. Or Sam Cassell, who's 3 pointer vs the Knicks was more important in Knicks history than any Jeremy Lin 3 pointer because Sam Cassell changed history for a team. Or Hakeem Olajuwon who won the MVP, Finals MVP, and Defensive Player of the Year in the same year. And when LOFs come here and start licking Lin like a delicious shaved ice with sugar and condensed milk, it makes the Clutchfans laugh in disbelief. Like when Hans Solo saw that the Ewoks were worshiping C3PO.
Yao's daughter was born in Clutch City. Yao will always be a citizen of Clutch City and Jeremy Lin is foreigner who never loved Clutch City. Jeremy Lin "Jeremy Lin: I've Always Been A California Guy" http://www.myfoxla.com/story/26098749/jeremy-lin
I will be honest with you that I do watch Lin's games because I am interested in seeing how he will do, same reason I watch Rose's game to see how he does after being out for literally almost two years. I also watch Klay Thompson and Dwight's (Rockets) games. And I was also a TMac fan. If you want to label me as LOH because I reply to the Lin trollers and Lin haters which make my reading experience here at CF terrible, that's fine. I will tell you I am not but I am not interested in arguing that because no matter what I do i know I can't change your mind. I know it is within everyone's right to post in this thread but imagine how this thread can be readable if you two have any mercy and not try to hijack it and make it become what it is today. You can blame the LOHs all you want for making CF the way it was, but I will laugh out loud if you think the haters have nothing to do with it. Not knowing one's self has a problem is worse than the problem itself. P.s. at least I find that you are funny in your posts (sometimes). P.s. 2 Lebron is the best player in the game today but I don't like how he flops.
I don't mind people rooting for Lin to do well. However, people who don't want the Rockets to win shouldn't be here. Anyone here who roots for the Lakers on Tuesday should be deported from Clutchfans. P.S.2 I really liked Gran Turismo and Devil May Cry
So I was reading the Lakers game thread and stumbled onto this mod message: It is going to be such a miserable season for Laker fans.
With the Lakers naming Jeremy Lin their starting point guard for Tuesday, Rockets guard Pat Beverley will take on the player he replaced as Rockets starter for the first time. But he said as well as he knows Lin’s game, Lin knows his, too. “J-Lin’s is a person I learned under when he was here,” Beverley said. “He taught me offense, where to get my shots. J-Lin was a person I was honored to have as a teammate, that I looked up to while he was here. We’re definitely going to have fun playing against each other. I’m happy for him. I’m sad things happened to Steve Nash, of course, but at the same time, I’m happy for Jeremy.” Mostly, Beverley said it would be fun to face Lin as he did in so many practiced since Beverley signed with the Rockets in January, 2013. “He’s going out there to try to win a basketball game for his team. I’m trying to do the same,” Beverley said. “At the end of the day, basketball is fun. It’s not like we’re going into a mining job. This is something we love to do. It’s going to be fun.” http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2014/10/beverley-lin-ready-for-head-to-head-matchup-in-rockets-season-opener/?utm_source=http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/?utm_source=http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2014/10/undrafted-rookie-tarik-black-not-worried-as-roster-cuts-loom/&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=offpage-widget-dealer-spotlight&utm_content=http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=offpage-widget-dealer-spotlight&utm_content=http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2014/10/beverley-lin-ready-for-head-to-head-matchup-in-rockets-season-opener/#27356101=0
Why concern for Tuesday's reason opener? Only thing you need to concern is not having enough funny troll lines for this thread and the game thread during the game when Rockets beat the Lakers and when Lin sucks. You only have a little more than a day to prepare those troll lines.
and that 14 million is coming out from your pocket? From a fans perspective.. who cares how much these billionaire owners spend? We want the best possible team on the floor to win. If they replaced that 14 million and spent it somewhere else to improve the team than yes i agree with you. But the fact remains on paper we took a step back from last year. Both Asik and Lin could be started in this league.
It's called having class. Unfortunately Bev obviously didn't rub off on Lin. Lin would rather cry in the media then man up.
