My guess is Father Gabriel locked himself in the church and wouldn't let others in to escape the walkers.
Just rewatched the 2nd episode. The car with the white cross (more like a '+' sign) was not the same one Beth was taking in....that was a caddy, right? Guess that means a community of people marking their cars with signs. fwiw
I thought the tainted meat thing was going to be more important. that's 3 solid to strong episodes in a row.. will it last?
Beth was kidnapped by someone in a funeral car. Or, a black car with a cross on it. Same white cross on another car when Daryl and Carol went chasing after.
Since they (ok, Maggie) are key characters, and the "cure" storyline is important, I am sure they will soon be reunited. More curious about what happened to Carol and how she and Darryl split up.
Loved how Gareth pointed at the church office threatening to shoot, but then got his fingers shot off. Only 3 episodes in and they resolved the cannibal storyline. This is moving really fast for Walking Dead. I'm optimistic that must mean the remaining 13 episodes will be awesome.
Is it really better than last season though? I know it's just 3 episodes going in so far but I remember last season layered with some intense moments and better arc in story telling. Hell I'll even say season 2 is still my favorite so far.
