    Tim Howard helped. Gave me a reason to pick a team. Twitter helped, as the fan base of Everton has been great to connect with. The world is a much smaller place than it was when we were kids.

    Yes, so true. For me, the whole thing started when I came to Houston and discovered the Internet in 1995. I guess I am the same to some extent, just the other way around - never stopped being a Rockets fan - wouldn't have been possible to keep following the team without the Internet and Clutchfans. I still remember Rockets2K doing all the work of making the games available on torrents and everything - now I can watch it all on NBA Broadband, even with the Rockets commentators whenever I want. No blackouts either.
