Not xenophobic. I am many other things... Can be vindictive and arrogant and violent. As far as having an Arab wife, I only point it out because that same poster years ago claimed I disliked Arabs... Not true, my wife is Arab and my son is half and I love visiting the Middle East... Along with parts of Africa and Western Europe my favorite region of the world.

Maybe you should have read the article from the OP (from an Arab, and, I believe, a moderate/non-religious Muslim-born journalist). If someone dresses like a salafist, wears a beard like a salafist, I contend that it is likely that that person also supports ideas salafists support. I am not talking about anyone wearing a beard, as you wrongly interpret it. I am not talking about someone being ignorant and thinking a Sikh is a salafist. No, I am talking about someone actually wearing a beard and dressing like a salafist.

Not with "a" beard (any beard). If you had read the OP, and apparently you are one of those people who need to read things three times before they understand them, you would have understood that I am pretty sure I can tell the difference between a Salafist beard and a Santa Claus. Maybe you can't.
