I rather have Lowry over Melo/Bosh. Look at what happened to Miami. Three allstars and they lost to a Dallas team with one allstar and to the Spurs with borderline old allstars. I rather have two allstars and three good players complimenting them vs three allstars and two weak starters.
I knew it as soon as we met with him. I knew we'd ask him to wait. He would have been a fantastic pickup. We had him.
This is true only if LBJ was 'a hair away' from staying in Miami, which we know wasn't the case. Even if he did stay in Miami, we don't know what they would have offered Bosh, who wanted to stay there all along.
Let me ask you two, do you think they could've won more championships if Lebron stayed? Lakers tried a big three and failed, they had Kobe, Malone and Payton. Shoot, we had a big three with Hakeem, Pippen and Barkley and Drexler (big four) in one season. Just because you throw three allstars together, doesn't mean you're going to win a championship. Look at how many rings the Spurs won...what is it, 5?
Well, that officially confirms who the "favorite" Lowry was referring to here, (if it wasn't already obvious from Houston being the only other team he agreed to meet with). Pretty funny conversation with LeBatard and Stugotz trying to get him to spill the beans, though - you can hear it at the 6:00 mark when you scroll down and click on the "Kyle Lowry" segment here: http://www.theticketmiami.com/the-dan-lebatard-show/2014/10/23/october-23-2014--the-dan-le-batard-show
