I'm getting Ballstreams. **** this mess, incredibly annoying and it's always "next week, no, next week....wait, maybe next week".
I think she (Patty Smith) has a kid at my daughter's school... I see her all the time at school functions. I am more worried about:
I'm getting it too. I travel for my job and it was nice being able to watch games when I was traveling.
I'm so sad to see CSN Houston go. I know people are pissed and still raging that they haven't been able to watch the Rockets for 2 years, but I was stuck with Comcrap and I enjoyed every bit of CSN. I have never in my life enjoyed a sports channel as much as I did with this one. I used to just leave the TV on ESPN while waiting for the Rockets game to start on Fox SW and browse the internet on my phone, with CSN I was glued to the TV. I'm glad people will finally be able to see the Rockets (and yes, the Astros too), but ROOT Sports won't be nearly as good as CSN was, at least to start off. They dropped the Dynamo, and will have less local programming. I just hope they keep the amazing post game access with all of our sports team, even the Texans.
I really struggle as to how Comcast is entitled to loan repayment while the Astros and Rockets just have to eat their lost rights fees.
I also think it has something to do with Comcast getting nothing back in return for the high rate carriage deal they are locked in to paying.
Julia is staying from what I understand, she is paid by the Astros (like Brown and Ashby) and not by the network.
CSN Houston was a great product. So sick of hearing people whine for the last two years about how you couldn't see the games. If you were true fans you would have switched carriers. Simple as that. You can say "I shouldn't have to switch carriers", or "I'm locked in a contract.", or whatever else you want. The simple fact is: the vast majority of folks in Houston had the capability to see the Rockets, if it was truly that important to them. If you chose to stay with a carrier with whom you could not see the games, that is an indicator that seeing the Rockets was not a true priority for you.
Lmao "just switch carriers". For one, not everyone wants to. Second, even if they did, not all areas have access to Comcast. They could have been like me, living in a dorm that only has Uverse prewired for the rooms and no other option.
Congrats, you win "dumb comment of the day". What about all of the areas in the 5 state range, where there is no Comcast? It's literally impossible to switch. Should everyone have moved to a specific area of Houston where Comcast is available? Rockets are a priority for a lot of people, but they are sane enough to keep them below their families, jobs, homes, and income.
This. I'm moving back to the area soon. Yes, I'm happy to be able to watch games again without having to jump through hoops...but it's no where on my list of reasons why I'm doing so. Well, maybe it's on there but it's pretty low. And from what I've heard, I'm not signing with Comcast. I've had Uverse and I'll be sticking with them. It's just an extra added benefit that it will be available on there after the switch happens.
Yep, I should pay $50 a month more for a worse product that doesn't have the technology or channels I want so some execs can get more money. Otherwise I'm not a real fan.
So...let me get this right. I have to switch to a carrier I hate...a carrier that tried to charge me $800 for a receiver box that I returned (took months to sort that out)...or I am not a "true fan." You are a real intellectual.
Again, if you really wanted to see the games, and the option were available to you, you'd switch. Life is about trade-offs, and by not switching (and choosing instead to complain), you are placing a higher priority on convenience or cost versus getting to see your team. I'm not saying anything is wrong with that. Different people have different priorities. But don't make a conscious decision not to switch and then say "I can't see the games". The vast majority do have the ability to see the games. They just chose not to.
To be honest, there was no way I was going to join Comcast to watch the games. There just no way. I've watched my Rockets on my TV for years, then out of no where Comcast runs into Houston and tells me "Hey, You want Rockets? Switch your carrier for it." There was no way I was joining them after they pulled that. They was in for a quick money grab by hoping everyone would switch to them. Didn't work, and I glad it didn't. CSN Houston seem like a great channel when it popped up on streams. But, seeing CSNH leaving Houston was a great step in the right direction. Btw, your comment was a bit.... out there lmao.
