I have a feeling McHale would use Bud to take way minutes from K-Pap. So no, unless McHale plays him behind Pap and we get him cheep.

I actually still really like Chase, and would like him for this team but I think you'd run the risk of him picking up his player option this Summer and hurting any potential plans for 2015 free agency.

Also he's sort of a duplication for what the Rockets already have at the 2/3 currently. I'm not sure if he adds a new dynamic more than he is just a slight upgrade of what they currently have on the bench.

Sounds crazy but I think Barea would be a better fit (expiring contract, needed PG fit off the bench). Not sure if you've heard anything about them trying to move him or not, but you'd have to think he's on the list of contracts they'd want to move to save some cash in a rebuilding year.

I get why Minny wants to move Chase though (more PT for Wiggins/Muhammed) and I think he could be very useful to alot of teams, just not sure Houston is a great fit currently.

 

I'd take Chase if Rubio comes with him and we don't have to give up the Pelies pick. But I'd prefer to do it this way: Minny buys out Chase for the $5 million he is owed for this season. We sign him with the BAE and a player option for next season. That way he gets back the $5 million he gave up and we can actually clear him off the cap for a run at a max free agent by getting him not to exercise that player option in favor of signing the room MLE next summer after we sign a max free agent.

If its just Bud... Then hell no!

If its Bud and any combinations of Corey Brewer, JJ Barea, Shabazz Muhammad, Mo Williams or future picks then taking on Chase would make sense

 

If it's just Bud no.. If he's packaged with assets.. sure..

 

Bud and any first rounder for nothing more than Powell + Ish Smith + Jeff Adrien I would do. That's about it.

It would amaze me if we made a deal with the Wolves and it wasn't for Barea + Thadeus Young. Those two don't fit on the Wolves and they can fit on the Rockets.

 

Not for that contract. Mucho dinero.
