Papanikolaou: 5/25 from 3 for 20% so far in preseason

Too much malakia last night. He will be fine.

 

Casspi was amazing for us during preseason. Look what happened there.

 

He is use to the Euro line. You can tell in his shot, it's always short by a bit. He will get it soon.

 

I think he'll be fine once he settles in and instead of trying to prove himself he just plays. I don't even get how you guys are going to predict what will happen in a year off of a couple pre-season games. He isn't even used to the NBA game and he looks really good IQ wise already. My worry is putting too much on him because our bench is trash, he needs another playmaker next to him so he can slash/create off the ball as well

 

He's flashed more than enough IQ for me to be confident that he will be a positive contributor to our win total this season.

He put his head down and went to work this preseason pretty much as soon as he arrived in town. Little talk, lots of hustle play. No malakies.

 

He's one of the only guys on the roster who can create his own shot. Worst case scenario, he's a younger version of Delfino. Best case, he can approximate some of the offensive punch Parsons used to give us, without the poor defense that we saw last year.

 

I would think that his trade value is currently on the rise. I am sure other teams are noticing his good play.

If McFail let him play significant minutes with Harden/Dwight, then he will hit 35-40% of his 3s(Bev-Harden-Ariza-Kpap-Dwight seems an option for me).
If not, below 35%.

 

Kostas is rushing his shot right now which is distorting his release. He's playing a considerable amount of minutes without Dwight on the floor alongside Black and Terrence. When that type of big combination is on the floor defenses can basically ignore them and scramble on the perimeter while the defensive center can cover both bigs down low. That leaves the 3 perimeter guys trying to play 3 on 4. Now throw in Ish on top of that and there's basically 2 guys the defense has to cover outside. Kostas doesn't stand much of a chance under those circumstances. He has to rush everything to get a shot off.

 

He was a horrible shooter in Europe as well

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this isn't really what we brought him over for anyway? He's not a 3 specialist, I am not gonna fault him for it. He's not the guy we need to do this.

I will be OK with him going at a 30-35% clip on 3s as long as he does the things we actually brought him over to do.

 

^ 3PT shooting was one of his strengths, but I agree that we probably need him more as a playmaker/ hustle player above all.

All I know is that he isn't Caspi-esq fool's gold and will regain his shooting touch. You can see it in his expression after very missed shot; he has too much pride to continue stinking.

He has probably never really practiced an NBA 3-pointer up until this year. I think he will be a fine shooter, once he learns to keep better balance on his shot. Even without hitting 3's he is still an awesome player for our squad.

 

this can be easily fixed by having him not shoot threes. everything else, he plays like a veteran. Reminds me of luifa from the maturity level.

 

He is still getting used to the distance. Post all star break I think it will be good.
