I'm done with football for awhile. The Texans are simply too erractic as an organization to get invested in. And frankly, if this is the best they can do, they don't deserve the fans loyalty and interest. Certainly not mine anyways.

Thank goodness the Rockets season starts next week!

Gah I don't know how many times I have to say this, but we can't cut him. Just look at his contract details.

I am truly expecting Bobby to acknowledge that this Texans team is just a bad football team. We lost to the Steelers who were embarassed by the Browns, who were beat by the Jags...Such is the NFL. And the Steelers truly arent the same team...they just had a chance to play against an NFL team with more ineptitude...

Honestly it's gotta be a curse. Texans find the strangest ways to lose games since their inception.

Yea. We were just pessimists that were ignoring the "reality" of the situation. I thought the team would win 3-4 games. I think we get to 6 but we won't be an under achieving 6 win team.

And like always, I hope I'm wrong and we can turn this season around.

This loss is unacceptable but being a Houston Professional Football Team, it will be excused away and accepted. Same as it ever was. NOTHING has changed since the days of the Oilers. What angered me the most was when they showed the players on the Houston sideline and there was no anger, no fire, no NOTHING. They were sitting looking exactly what they are: a bunch of LOSERS. I am beyond angry at this point in time because I have been watching 50+ years of this ***** and my patience, reason and understanding has been long since been exhausted. Might as well bring back Dom Capers if this is what they are calling professional football in Houston. Honestly, this team doesn't deserve any fans - folks should meet them at the airport and throw eggs at their plane. I haven't felt this much rage since 1993.

The Texans are a better team than they have been playing though, they've handed games to the Colts, Cowboys, and now Steelers due to mental mistakes and WTF moments. I think they'll get it together eventually....but probably not this season. Originally I predicted them to go 8-8, looks like it might be closer to 7-9 or 6-10 unless they get their ish together.

A loss is a loss we might as well lost by 50. Obrien is terrible. Just got get your check and keep losing. I respect Watt, Foster and Andre... even Blue but the rest of these guys are straight losers that don't care.

Didn't they shape Cushing's contract so that they could get out of it fairly easily? I remember it being a year-to-year contract pretty much. He's still having knee issues and having his knee drained. He has a bonus due in March 2015 which they can decline.

    http://www.battleredblog.com/2013/9/6/4702308/brian-cushings-contract-extension-seems-awfully-friendly-to-the

Cushing, who has been suspended for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing drugs in the past and who is coming off season-ending surgery, will make $10.149 million this season, including a $9 million signing bonus, and his $2 million salary for 2014 is guaranteed for skill, injury and cap purposes.

Beyond that, however, the Texans have the option to basically bring him along year by year, and they can get out of the deal without significant drawbacks for purposes of skill or cap. Cushing's $6 million option bonus in 2014 is not guaranteed and if the Texans do not exercise it, then a future year of his deal becomes guaranteed for $6 million -- but for injury only, so the team still has the ability to let him go for other reasons if need be.

Am holding out hope that Cushing's injury is similar to Demeco Ryan's where he was healthy and cleared to play/run but was missing being able to turn on the gas for about another year.

It was even more obvious in the Colts game when JJ picked up and returned the fumble, Cushing taps him on the back as he gets back up and then is not able to keep up with the vanguard on the way to the end zone at all. Seems like he just immediately peeled off.

Yeah, they are passing out the "Official Dallas Cowboy Bandwagon Application" everywhere up here. It's enough to make you puke.

Daniel Jeremiah: Ryan Fitzpatrick is a backup. That's who he is. (A lot of other issues tonight besides QB.)

Nate Burleson: They need a guy behind there to right the ship, be the captain of the boat. He's a number two. That's what he's playing as.

Baldinger: That's why they're struggling. Until they get consistent play from a guy they believe in, they'll continue to struggle.

I don't mind losing games like the ones we lost to the Giants and Cowboys. I just hate losing games like this one and the Colts game. Also to do this twice in a row on national t.v.

I saw someone in Clutchfans last week make a statement that was a mouthful. You can't be a Houston sports fan and be a sissy.
