Good point. I guess the only bad contracts were Schaub and Cushing. It seems a full blown rebuild is needed. Gonna be a long 2-3 years.
AS bad as he is, he is still better than the rest of the garbage on this roster. They literally have no one to play ILB which requires TWO players
There was one play tonight in particular where it just looked like the game passed him by....he was trying to cover across the middle....he didn't...and then he tried to pursue...and he couldn't. Again..there are lots of names on this roster that sound a lot better than the talent underneath the jersey at this point.
This is our official sky has fallen moment, gentlemen. EWS - out for the night. Sorry to anyone I offended tonight.
This organization was set back when they didn't get rid of Kubes and Smith back in 2010. A good GM probably still would have picked Watt in 2011 and also picked better in other drafts as well and this organization would have been further along. The teams are just not ran well in this city. Its a joke.
Ask the Colts when they got Manning and then Luck. Those 2 players didn't turn their fortunes around? And for bball, ask the Wolves how far they got with Kevin Love all those years, and then the 80's Clippers with all those high draft picks. Not every high lottery pick is a Lebron, and in the NFL if you're the crappiest team in the right year, you can land a Luck and be set for the next 10 years at the most important position in sports. I'm just saying we had a great individual player in Hakeem and wasted a lot of his years in the late 80's/ early 90's with a crap team. And now we have a great individual talent in Watt and we just might waste a lot of his prime years with these mediocre Texans teams. If it makes you feel better, Watt might end up like Andre Johnson; great player, crappy texans team sans the brief playoff teams we had.
Eh...I think most of the people in this forum who follow this team put them at about 6-7 wins, right? Seems like they're right on target. And truthfully, that's tons better than last year in terms of wins/losses. I just don't think we're getting any closer to being a good team again, though. Spinning wheels. Wasted season.
If I'm ever a new coach, I'm dedicating up to 2 picks every year to QBs until I find 1 that works. And this QB would have a very short leash. If he doesn't show me something in year 1, he's cut by year 2. That's how important the position is. Not saying Fitz is terrible, but he isn't dynamic either. Sometimes, he holds us back and this is what people refer to when they want to see Mallett play. The arm strength is evident, now we just want to see it in game action. It's time to see what type of investment we made in trading for Mallett.
OB was brought in because of what he did at Penn State. Changing the culture and instilling discipline. Well, he hasn't been able to bring any of that to Houston. That was one of his big selling points and he's failing at it. Team still does the same stupid **** it did last year. QB throws INTs. Our stars are fumbling. Our best LB is slow. Our safeties suck. LBs and Secondary don't know the defensive scheme and are routinely out of position and missing assignments. We give up first downs via penalty. And it doesn't help when the HC doesn't know when enough is enough and tries to force **** when we don't have the horses to pull it off. I didn't have high expectations and I don't think our talent level is very good, but even taking that into account, I haven't been impressed with O'Brien OR Crennel to this point. Even with this team rebuilding, O'Brien's discipline was supposed to make us better immediately, even without an increase in talent. And the fact that it just isn't there is very disappointing.
They get a huge break with the unsecure onside kick... and dont have anyone that actually looks for the fcking ball...how unlucky. Chalk yet another win for a overrated Steelers team that was gifted 14 points in 20 seconds...I still am in shock. Every time the Texans convince me that they may do well...they end up shocking me with how majestically they end up collapsing. This team is going 7-9 and Fitzpatrick will be benched after the bye week. Guaranteed. We will see what Mallet has to offer. Clowney should not see the field the rest of the season if he cant practice... Brian Cushing's career is done. PS for any Steeler fans...your team will not make the playoffs. Guaranteed.
Cushing missed tackle was a major turning point. We wasn't letting them get no yards on us till that play.
Cushing's career may be done, but take a look at his contract. Can we just let him go? http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/houston-texans/brian-cushing/http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/houston-texans/brian-cushing/
Thanks for more embarrassment H-Town squad. When the scoreboard showed 13-0 I couldn't believe it. Sure nuff, 3 minutes later it was 13-24. #bullish #garbage #trash #embarrassing
Cushing just doesn't look like the same player. He's late on everything and just looks like his feet are stuck in cement. He's missing tons of tackles as well. He makes a good chunk of change and has a contract that's pretty easy to get out of. It wouldn't surprise me if they cut him after the season.
