Complaining about Rick Smith really takes away from the core of the problem... this was a team with diminishing talent as of 2 years ago, and its going to take more than 1 off-season to get back to being totally respectable.

I don't see the cost at this point. This isn't a playoff team. You traded for him..let's see what he has. In all likelihood, you're right and he's nothing worth keeping. But at least you'll be making that decision based off real NFL reps.

If anybody thinks Mallett is really in the future plans of the Texans, all you have to do is look at the TV. If they're not going to put him in now, they never are. It tells you what they think of him, which isn't much.
