You're the one in here talking about how it affects a fraction of the voting public as if it's meaningless. Do you even know what you're talking about?

Voter fraud is close to zero, soooooo voter ID laws are working?
You're missing the point here, like a typical Democrat. I find the current Voter ID laws too oppressing. However I am not for or against a laxed version of the law. I just dont care. I dont think its that important.

So instead of being a party drone, why dont you come up with your own unique opinions instead of staunchly following the party lines.

For example, why not compromise and agree that a person must show something that they are indeed the person they represent, whether its a pay stub, college ID, social security stub/medicare/medicaid, a bill or any ID, in exchange for
    .
    .
.talking about something that actually ****ing matters.
-Gerrymandering. Its wrong, no matter which side you choose to be a drone
-The actual registration process and ensure people are properly registered
    -A uniform law for voting
-Give protection to everyone, not just 4 subsets of people. Do you realize that Florida would be a blue state if felons could vote? They broke a law? who cares! They are still Americans. The politicans they elect still affect them even if they are lifers.

    Stop being a drone!

Where is your data to suggest this? You just told me 400k would have to drive 3 hours to get an ID. This suggests that they live in rural Texas. As someone who has lived in several rural counties in a couple different states, let me tell you who usually lives out there. Old, poor, white people. A staple of the Republican Party. Dont hand me this nonsense that the Voter ID laws is vastly affecting the Democrat party. While it may not be a 50/50 split between the parties, its certainly not this 5%/95% split, in favor of the Republics, like you make it out to be.

Are there a couple precincts that the law makers are targeting? probably. however there are more shenanigans to worry about.

Not sure how I am being a drone. I generally don't toe the liberal ideology as there are things I agree with republicans on over democrats.

Anyway, the fact is, even before all these voter id laws, there wasn't voter fraud. So the fact is these laws serve no purpose other than it will prevent people from voting.

And the studies indicate these laws will impact deomcratic constituents far more:

More important things than people's right to vote? What's more important than that?

An Arizona county party official said he saw a man stuffing “hundreds” of ballots into the ballot box and later told a local news outlet the entire incident was caught on surveillance video.

“A person wearing a Citizens for a Better Arizona T-shirt dropped a large box of hundreds of early ballots on the table and started stuffing the ballot box as I watched in amazement,” said A.J. LaFaro, chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Party.

Shame on registered voters who have no voter id. If they aren't following this guy on Twitter, they don't deserve to vote.

You will post anything that seemingly supports your agenda, even if it's complete ridiculous.

Are you suggesting this has anything to do with voter ID or throwing crap at the wall?

This is why early/absentee is where fraud is most likely to occur. It takes relatively few conspirators to attempt something like this.

Went to vote yesterday and it took the clerk 5 minutes to verify my ID.

It took me 3 minutes to vote.

    Talk about a stupid system.

why does that mean the system is stupid? It can take days for a background check to buy a gun and a couple of minutes to actually buy the gun. Must be a stupid system right?

Valid point! Lets do away with background checks. Very stupid system!

Agree or disagree with a topic, just please refrain from coming up with ignorant logic.

I don't know about fraud through absentee ballots. As expected, since Republican vote absentee more often, the voter ID laws created by Republican largely left (and some state even ease up) requirement for absentee voting relative to in-person voting.

You don't know about it because it doesn't exist in any meaningful form.

Because it waste time, energy and money for nothing in return. Actually, for lower turnout of Dem voters in return.

That's call stupid (or really corrupt).

Why did it take 5 minutes? Don't they look at your face, the photo on the ID, the name on the ID, the name on the voter card, and the name on the voter roll? Was there some snafu with you, or did everyone take 5 minutes to check? If you add 5 minutes to every voter, the whole system is going to break.

I don't know because I haven't seen much of any studies related to absentee voting.

Absentee voting is also getting more popular (who want to wait in line when they don't have to).

The potential is much higher there than in-person voting.

There have been report of potential fraud or stealing of election through absentee voting...

They took my ID. Swiped it on the back and since it's not new (5 years old) it didn't want to register right away. Then she asked me if my home address was the same as on my ID. Is your name ____ _____ Jr? And then looked up at me and the ID two or three times.

First time this has ever happened to me while voting. I vote a lot.
