Gone Girl - 8/10 Edge of Tomorrow - 7/10 Dead Snow 2 - 6/10 Radio Days - 7.5/10 Carrie ('76) - 6/10 Sleeper - 7/10 Scenic Route - 6/10 Bad Grandpa - 5/10
The Fault In Our Stars - 7/10, I liked it however the narration by the chick was not good. Her voice is just hard to listen to for long. Godzilla - 3/10, I rented this after seeing it in the theater to give it a second chance. Still horrible. I love Ken Watanabe but he should be ashamed of himself. The Tomorrow People - 6/10, A TV series I caught on Netflix, only one season unfortunately. Cool concept, kind of in the mold of the Matrix concept of a secret underground kind of battle going on in the world. Million Dollar Arm - 5.5/10, Really wanted to like this movie but it struck me a lot like The Rookie but just not as good. They didn't spend enough time with the two Indian players and their experiences which was a much more interesting story line than following the agent's doings.
Camp x-ray- 6.6/10.. dare I say it? bella's best performance to date. don't get me wrong she was still nervous unstable white chick but she really sells it in this movie. Movie taught me a valuable lesson..no matter which god you kneel before,we all love our harry potter.
Can someone explain to me why Godzilla has close to 80% on rottentomatoes? Rented it over the movie and it was utter trash. Absolute waste of time. Cheesy dialogue and horrendous acting. The only one who could act in this movie was Cranston and he was gone after the first 15 mins or so. His son was as bad as that kid who played Anakin. Olsen girl was terrible as well.
Rented godzilla this weekend unwatchable/10 absolutely terrible and a complete waste of time. I had to walk away and start again 3-4 times because it was so damn boring
I thought for sure I must have been in a crap mood when I saw it the first time so I gave it a second chance but no, it's seriously just horrible. HORRIBLE.
Yeah it was awful. If you just want to be entertained? Sure. But the acting, writing, and storyline was just horrific.
Just chipping in to agree with the consensus that Godzilla was horse ****. Fury: Ok, this film I would have given a 9 out of 10 if it weren't for some issues I had in the last act. Because of that, I give it an 8 out of 10. Still highly worth your time. The battle scenes were extremely well done. The following contains spoilers. OPEN AT YOUR OWN RISK. Spoiler My problem with the last act? The way they portray an undersized battalion of SS troopers as complete idiots. First, the SS wait until like half their force is wiped out before anyone thinks to break out the Panzerfausts? (And how does a battalion of SS not have more Panzerfausts at that stage of the war? Or for that matter, no Panzerknacker AT mines either?) Second, they fire their small arms at a buttoned up tank which is of course completely ineffective and gives away their positions allowing them to be cut to ribbons. Third, when the Germans finally DO use a Panzerfaust and it penetrates the tank only 1 man inside dies. Completely unrealistic. The round would have probably richocheted around the inside of the tank killing all inside. Fourth, snipers would have been in place to pick off the tank crew LONG before they attempted to break out the first time. Fifth, once the tank was silent and the Germans approached the tank and opened the hatch, they would have simply dropped grenades in before looking. After all, the tank had just wasted dozens of their brethren. Sixth, the SS soldier checking under the tank would NEVER have let that surviving member live. For one, he has no idea if the guy is armed. For two, NOBODY gets in the SS without being a fanatical Nazi. For three, he just watched many of his comrades get cut down by this tank crew. He'd want revenge. Because of all of the above, I found myself SMH at the "heroic" last stand. A nice idea, but poorly executed.
Dragnet 66 8/10 Just for the nostalgia. Seriously, you have to go check it out, it's free on Youtube. Most of you probably haven't watched a crime drama TV show from the mid-60's. The world was a very different place then, and it's worth a watch to see how far things have come since then. This was actually the pilot movie for the TV series, but for some reason it never even aired until 69, when the show had already been on for three years. Anyway, it's kind of amazing in its own way. It can definitely help you appreciate things which you probably take for granted.
Dragnet... with Jack Webb and Henry Morgan. Iconic... though I believe Webb had a bad back so his stilted movement was caricatured for police shows. Later Adam-12 and Hawaii 5-0, Ironsides, ChiPs, Columbo and then the police genre evolved into private detectives (Mannix, Magnum PI, Longstreet, forgot the one with the fat PI). Then Hill Street Blues brought back TV cops it seemed. I think I can go back a bit farther... a show called Highway Patrol with Broderick Crawford. Now that is going back!
Godzilla 3/10 was it just me or were all of the fight scenes at the end so damn dark you couldn't even see anything? Either way just not a very good movie. Carrie (the new one) - Very true to the original I thought. 5/10
