You don't make the decisions for the Rockets, and neither do anyone of us. If he fails, he won't be a Rocket for long. If he proves to be a good backup player, he may stay on the team.
From what I've seen he plays pretty smart and looks like he can keep up with the NBA game despite his lack of athleticism. I don't know that he is worth $5m, and part of the reason he was signed to that contract is to make a mid-sized trade possible and has nothing to do with his value on the court, although it would be great if he can live up to it.

All you kept asking was why does everyone think this guy is so amaaaaaazing, maaaaaan? OMG I just don't see ittttt. WAH WAH WAH. You're already suggesting that you think he's a nobody and that he blows. You've barely seen the guy play. Same with most of the people here. Give it some time. Watch him for a full season. Then make up your mind on whether he's a dud or a stud.

Why should you give him a chance? Not sure what you mean by that? Are you a Rockets fan, and want their players to be good? Not sure what I can tell you. The guy was never supposed to be the next anything, or live up to any expectations other than to be Kostas Papanikolaou who is who he is. He's a versatile SF who moves the ball well on offense. Really makes SOLID passes (not necessarily flashy), plays excellent/underrated defense despite not having elite athleticism, can make plays on the perimeter if you need him to, is a very smart player (always in the right spots, pays attention to the scouting report, and is a great locker room guy). He's also got great winning pedigree and has always won everywhere he's played. Lastly, he's on a great team friendly contract. If he's a minus on the court, he has exceptional value as a large non-guaranteed contract... which is huge for trades sake (even though I doubt he's traded). Downside is he's not a superstar player who does superstar things (should be obvious for anyone whose seen him play). That and his shot is very streaky now (even though he's most likely going to improve in the NBA). So knowing all of this, why again do you feel like he's such a terrible Rocket? Cause he's not someone else you want on the team or think we should have had instead? Please explain your reasoning so we can understand what the problem is.

The Chico thing was played out about five minutes after it was introduced. We get it: ya'll have disdain for all the trade rumors that haven't come to fruition(yet).
