Here's a link to the episode, and what I believe to be HD. http://anime.fullfights.org/western-cartoons/legend-of-korra-season-4-episode-1 I didn't like the Nick link, personally. This website also has HD links to a lot of other popular anime, if anyone is interested.
I will be keeping track of this thread, and will not be watching this season for a bit. It would be greatly appreciated if yall could start putting spoilers.
I liked the episode but wished it was an hour as well. This season is looking dark and I'm digging it. Also I can't even watch the episodes on nick's website since Suddenlink got rid of all the Viacom channels. Had to go to kissanime.com, fortunately they post the episodes there
"Korra Alone" reaction: I'm deeply grateful for how patient they've been with Korra's recovery. It's a rare American family show that's willing to give the hero a season break, two episodes, and three in-universe years and STILL have her getting her ass kicked by random bandits you'd beat in the first ten minutes of an RPG. I think shellshocked Korra is much more interesting than all-powerful Korra.
I thought the second episode was spot on perfect and more than made up for the lack of Korra in the first episode. They covered her three year recovery, inner demons, and PTSD brilliantly as she wandered the world. I thought the animation, locales, and music were great Spoiler The Toph cameo at the end was awesome. I get the feeling while Korra might have been a better teacher for Aang, Toph and her no-nonsesne attitude is a much better fit for Korra. I can't wait to see those two interact in the next episode. "Nice to see you again, Twinkle Toes." Such a great fade to black line.
I absolutely LOVED having Toph back. It's like she didn't change at all. The Mako/Bolin conflict seems a little forced, but otherwise this season has started off great for me. Kuvira being a villain that I actually am enjoying rooting for plays no small part in that.
Kuvira reminds me more of the first season's villain where she is actually more threatening because she has the will of the people behind her. This seems to be shaping up to be an epic final season. And again damn you Nickelodeon for your treatment of this awesome series.
Just finished season 2, wasn't as good as the first season to me. Loved the story of avatar Juan and how he became the first avatar. Question, how is unalaq as powerful as a avatar state korra? Also, does the avatar state seem weak compared to the last air bender? Anng would destroy anyone or anybody while in it and she can't even beat a water bender. She seems odd.
Latest episode was another good one. I love the fights in this series they are always so consistently good and the latest fight lived up to that. How long is this season? 13 episodes?? Feels like it needs to be a lot longer
Does Korra ever win a fight? It's seems like for 4 books of constantly getting her ass handed to her by people with less natural ability.
Korra is like the opposite of Aang. She has all the attitude to kick ass, but less latent ability to do so. Also, I love Kuvira. She's so awesome. Korra, just let her win. It's cool. Spirit Vine cannons aren't all bad.
Very much so. It's funny to watch both series' and compare how everything* just always worked out for Aang, whereas everything just sucks for Korra. *Ok, not everything: he did get hit with lightning in the back. But his world was far simpler than Korra's.
I thought I would post this here for the animation lovers. Pledge to get some action cartoons! Once Legend of Korra is gone there won't be any quality action cartoons left on television. The team this guy has put together for this project is bananas! Many of them coming from projects we know and love.. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/473463284/cannon-busters-the-animated-series-pilot <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/8WzLljQjIMA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
That's cool. I'll try to keep an eye on that. I've watched the first 4 episodes of Star Wars Rebels... it's ok. Can't recommend it strongly but it's not a bad show.
