I learned that I don't make the most of my visits to Houston!

Those are a lot of fun categories it ranks well in

I think we as Houstonians tend to take certain things for granted, but in all honesty, Houston is pretty damn awesome. We've really made a concerted effort as a city to add arts and culture into our daily activities over the last 10 years or so. It's nice to be recognized!

If you could condense Houston's stuff to do into a 5 mile radius it would be one of the best cities in the world.

Behind only NY and Washington in Museums. Impressive.

The Museum District has always been my favorite part of the city.

Why is Providence so damn high on so many things?

Bankruptcy, corruption, one of the worst public school systems in the country, one of the highest ratios of drug addicts to regular citizens, etc. It really sounds like pretty much utopia.

#2 on bookstores?? I understand that bookstores have been commoditized everywhere, but I'm not appreciating what bookstore scene we've got that makes us #2.

Half Price Books in Rice Village? And I think I saw a place named 1/4 Price Books in Houston too.

    This negates the whole survey:

    Friendly
    1. Nashville
    2. Salt Lake City
    3. Minneapolis/St. Paul
    4. Kansas City
    5. Oklahoma City

While I will agree that Minneapolis/St. Paul folks are nice, they are not friendly - at least not to strangers. Shoot, even Twin Cities' residents will agree they are not friendly.

I've said on here before that Houston's museums are amongst the best. The dinosaur hall at HMNS has to be top 5 in the world all by itself.

Proud of my home town. Can't wait to move back. That will hopefully be sooner rather than later.

I think that list is spot on. The things I always missed about Houston is the museums, culture, nightlife and food. The only reason I still don't live there is weather and traffic.

I would not want to be a part of a list that includes Providence, Kansas City, and Minneapolis. Yuck. What are the least favorite cities on this website? San Diego, Denver, San Fran, Chicago, and Seattle? Is Asheville its ugliest city? This website is like the Armond White of travel sites.

Edit: Ok I went through all their rankings and at least agree with a lot of the minor categories. Dunno how Providence ended up favorable on any of those lists however. Last time I was there it was just block after block of warehouses and Dunkin' Donuts. I can't argue with the pizza, burgers, and sandwiches lists, as the best pizza I've had was in Chicago (Pequod's), the best burger in Houston (Petrol, with a strong nod to Kuma's in Chicago and Sidetrack in Ypsilanti), and the best sandwich in New Orleans (forgot the name of the place in the Garden District). But I dunno how Houston is #1 on brunch (NYC has us covered) and wine bars and #2 in intelligence! Boston, SFO and Manhattan, come on.
